The newly renovated Claw at USF, named thus for its many doglegged fairways, offers a distinct layout that seamlessly winds through moss draped oaks and towering pines on pristine Florida preservation land. You will enjoy the fact that there are no houses crowding the fairways. Located at the University of South Florida, this manicured course is home to alligators, deer, turkeys and many other rare inhabitants. You will feel like you are playing in the heart of a nature preserve. "The Claw" is also home to the nationally ranked men's and women's USF Golf Teams. Elevated greens and new Tif-Dwarf putting surface, will test your finesse and shot making ability.

Maintenance
Maintenance was awful tee box were horrible on most holes over booked had no carts when I showed up but paid for one course is over priced for what you get I’m a 2 handicap golfer and will never go back.
Thank you for playing The Claw. We sincerely apologize about not having a golf carts available at your tee time. Due to Covid-19 we are limited to amount of riders we are allowed in a golf cart and try to manage the tee sheet the best we can. We would love to talk to you about this further. The club house is a conex in the parking lot. The carts are molding on the seats, the grass is cut too short, they have leaves everywhere so it's hard to spot the ball, the tee times are not enforced (we were given the go ahead to tee off 10 minutes early because we had two new players in my party, by the time we were hitting our second shot the next group was teeing off, felt rushed the entire time, the layout is confusing.

Very slow
Pace of slow was extremely slow due to walkers from the golf team. The team should not be allowed to walk at certain hours. They showed no respect to the general public. Players would just jump around the coyote any open hole delaying the whole course.

Properly priced
Properly priced for course conditions and amenities, but overall disappointed at the condition for a Div 1 school golf course.

The course is falling apart. Greens are in good shape, but that's about it.

1 hour wait past our tee time for carts returning from course
Unbelievable that USF after years of the same problem of not putting money back into the course and everyone that showed up around our noon tee time waited an hour or more BEYOND their tee times for a cart. Horrible as this has been going on for years now???

New Year’s Eve
Sucked. Had to wait for carts. No balls for the driving range cuz they were soo busy. Everyone there was super dope. Friendly. Helpful. Just didn’t have enough carts so about 10 groups had to wait.
