Desert Canyon Golf Club
About
Nestled within Fountain Hills, the course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club offers a championship course with a variety of elevation changes with views canyon and mountain views. It is a desert-style course with some elevated tees and open fairways that play tight with a few doglegs. Water bunkers come into play on a few holes as well as numerous well-positioned sand bunkers. From nearly every hole on the golf course, views of the signature fountain in Fountain Hills, which is the world's tallest fountain at 550 feet, can be seen.

Very nice course
The course was in great shape from tees to green. Pace of play was exactly 4 hours. Occasionally we would have to wait a few minutes on a shot here or there but we still managed to play in 4 hours. I would definitely play this course again.
Good course to play.
The course was in good shape. Greens were fast. Better to be putting up hill than down hill. Range marshal tried to keep slower players caught up with those ahead of them. Overall good round.
1-30-2017 Desert Canyon
Very fun course, yet challenging. Great service and clubhouse.
Great condition
The course was in great condition and the views and changes in elevation were wonderful. In my opinion the only drawback were a couple holes that were just to tight with one layout being just a little to cute.Overall a great experience!
good solid course
pace was good. course was in good shape due to recent rain. Greens were running true and fast.
User friendly, but challenging!
Nice variety in hole layouts, nice views, course conditions were very good.
Pace of play
We played our round in 3:52 min and felt like we were being pushed a little. We went off the first tee late I thought because of the marshal talking to much about the course which created a gap between us and the foursome in front, so the players behind us were always waiting a little. If the course wants to be sticklers about time then they need to make sure the staff doesn't hold players up.
D.C.
Well maintained course with varying degree of difficulty. For December the greens were in good shape. The ball rolled well on rolled greens.
1st 5 hr round this year
Tied my time for slowest round ever in the valley at 5hrs and 10 min. There were three groups on one tee box more than once. Marshal came by saying happy new year and a lot of people must have gotten new clubs for christmas because it was real slow out there. Nice observation sherlock do something about it.
Course in December is in Great Shape
Played the course on Dec. 21st and the greens and fairways were in great shape. Pace of play was perfect and the course was not overcrowded. Just need to get my golf game back now!
This course has an excellent layout
We really enjoyed playing here. The staff were so friendly and helpful giving you a good feeling before you even start your play. The course can be challenging depending on what tee box you play from, but also great for the average player. This was our first time here but would defenatly play it again. We highly recommend playing this course.
Great course
Some target golf, mixed with length, elevated t shots, just fun course to play
Great time
I was coming to Phoenix for a thanksgiving vacation from Chicago. I was looking for a hot deal for under $50, since we would be playing a friend's home course on another day. After reading the positive & negative comments, I booked Desert Canyon. From the moment we arrived in the development, my father & I were wowed by the scenic views. It is a short course, but due to the elevation changes, it plays bigger. The staff was polite & pleasant. It was like a private country club, with no one in front us or riding on our coat tails rushing us. For it being not that crowded, the beverage cart was out & we always had a beer to drink. The course was in great shape considering it had rain pretty heavily the day before. I can't wait to come back & play here again.
Awesome track Beautiful views.
Play this course if you enjoy hilly terrain. Beautiful layout. Beautiful views. A must do again. I'll be back
Excellent golf course
I've been playing here regularly for the last several years as my best friend has a card and lives nearby. It is a beautiful track with bunch of challenges, the course actually looks a lot easier than what it plays. The greens could be very tricky, should almost exclusively be below the hole as putting down hill will likely turn into a 3 putt. Several short par 4s which look drivable, but from my experience, take an iron or a hybrid and be safe. The staff is awesome, Jason is always kind and accommodates us regularly. The food is excellent, and that German beer Krombacher is a must have after every round. For the money, one of the best values for the money. The only area of improvement is the pace of play during the busy months, it tends to really slow down on the back nine. Other than this, it is a wonderful golfing experience in beautiful Fountain Hills.
Enjoyable course
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good warm up facilities. Interesting course layout. The Twosome two groups ahead were quite slow so we had to wait numerous times but no marshal around to deal with it. Course is in quite good condition. Clubhouse washrooms could have been a lot cleaner.
