Desert Canyon Golf Club
About
Nestled within Fountain Hills, the course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club offers a championship course with a variety of elevation changes with views canyon and mountain views. It is a desert-style course with some elevated tees and open fairways that play tight with a few doglegs. Water bunkers come into play on a few holes as well as numerous well-positioned sand bunkers. From nearly every hole on the golf course, views of the signature fountain in Fountain Hills, which is the world's tallest fountain at 550 feet, can be seen.

Interesting layout
Plays much longer then yardage. Elevated greens uphill landing zones
Greens slow. May be caused by weather
Greens cannot putt to have ball die
Tough
Mostly carry and elevated greens. Perhaps not for the beginner golfer. Very nice course.
A great, challending track.
Had a 1.5 hour frost delay, but the course did a great job of keeping everyone moving in order to complete the round within 4 hours. A "must play" course in AZ!
Great course
First time playing the course. Starter and pro shop staff were very friendly and helpful. The course was in good condition and was fun to play while still challenging. Would definitely play here again.
Great Course
This course was really fun to play. It isn't real long and is very forgiving making for a very enjoyable experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating
The Ranger
One of our carts got off track and needed Ranger assist. This was done most professionally. He then reminded us that we had fallen behind timewise and asked us to play "ready golf". We made up the time and for the first time EVER, the ranger came around, THANKED US, and advised us to then relax and enjoy the rest of the round. I have NEVER been treated so kindly by a Ranger. My next letter is to the course on this same issue. Great great hospitality.
First Time
Course was in great shape.
Beautiful layout. Difficult to play shots for a first timer due to elevation changes and not knowing the appropriate club selection.
Many of the holes were shorter than expected.
Greens were fast.
I'm a young guy (mid 30's) and played as a single. Played with a friendly retired couple. Most of the people playing the course were retired. It kinda slows the pace of play and also is not a fun when you play with everyone who is hitting from front tees and hitting driver on par 3's. Didn't have anyone to challenge me or get me in a good rhythm.
Course was still fun and offers true Desert style play. Beautiful homes off the course for a great visual appeal.
Beautiful views
Very well maintained. The best of six courses played in Scottsdale area. We will return.
JFILL
The course was fun, the weather was perfect, the starter was very helpful, and we truly enjoyed playing for the first time.
Great outing for a couple of prairie boys
Everything in great shape. Most fairways are wide but the slope and elevated greens are always challenging. We always enjoy the outing particularly because of the layout which cannot be repeated on the prairies. Staff are friendly. Carts work well , both on steep inclines and declines, but the driver has to be careful as some cart paths are narrow with sharp/deep drop offs. Just go slow, keep your eye on the roadway not the beautiful scenery all around you and enjoy your day.Booked a late t off as we planned to play 9.
So so
Short goofy golf course. Would not recommend for anyone under 18 handicap. Conditions were very good which is the only reason it got an average rating. I would not go back to Desert Canyon. Maybe for $50.
Customary Good Experience
The course was in terrific shape, and with a perfect mild day, the views were wonderful, as usual.
Desert Canyon is worth a drive from Phoenix, with some of the best views to the east from anywhere and a challenging course with a lot of up and down and quick greens. The rates are as high as they will be all year, probably, but still a fair value.
Great layout. Great condition. Great views.
Enjoyed everything about the course. Great shape. Friendly staff. Very scenic. Playable for all levels.
Challenging
Course was in nice condition. Will challenge all players with its layout. Greens well maintained. Recommend to all players.
Highly Playable
Our first time playing golf in the area and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The course was in good condition and it was a fair test of golf for mid-handicap golfers. Perhaps too easy for a better golfer than me. Good food in the restaurant too. I would definitely recommend it.
Views to die for
What a beautiful area and one every golfer needs to see. So I recommend going.
I did not enjoy the course because of all its elevations.I had quite a few "perfect shots" that were hijacked by the deep slopes.
The course was well maintained and the greens were very good. It just wasn't my type of championship course I enjoy
