About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

A course made for a hole in one
The review is biased because I aced the fifth hole (formerly the 14th hole), 140 yard, par 3 with a 7 iron. Course staff upon being notified, took pics and gave me a nice certificate.
The course was going through some reconstruction, It appears they had a good amount of rain and that was reflected in some fairways with mud, etc. But all in all in good condition. Greens a little furry, but they ran true.

Nice course, staff needs work
The starter was incredibly rude for no reason, and they also called us to the first tee 12 minutes before our tee time, cutting our range time short.
I've played this course a ton, and was really shocked with the starter. On the tenth tee and after playing a 1hour 50 minute front nine, ONE member of our foursome went to re-tee after a bad drive, and the starter came running toward the tee to tell us we absolutely couldn't do that. Even had the audacity to say 'maybe if you were playing up a tee box, but definitely not from there'.
Group had two 6hcps and two 12hcps. Were not by ANY means slow, nor were we behind on pace.

Fun, but challenging course
I like to play this course and there have been some good improvements made. Water hazards need improvement as many are dry.

Tough Course
It's a pretty tough course. Lots of bunkers, water, bare spots. Greens and some fairways in decent condition in March. Long post 3s.

Short course
This course was a short course and quite busy , as there are a lot of par 3’s the pace of play was quite slow

Ok for the price
I have played this course many times over 8 yrs . They have made great improvements over the last year, particularly their bunkers. Downfalls are the amount of standing water, long after rain. Also, the staff are unwelcoming, particularly the starter.

Never coming back
We had a group of 3 and finished 7 holes after playing for over 2.5hrs. We had enough and found out that we were double booked and someone at the front desk tried telling us we were late. We weren’t impressed with the condition of the course at all.
Disappointing
Photos of course were misleading. The course had lots of brown spots and uneven ground. The cost was very high for the below average condition of the course

So-so for the price
I felt the greens and fairways were in pretty good shape. The paths Nd rough were really rough. They did not clean up the course after apparent rain storm. First nine was good pace but the back really was slow. Not horrible, but not great overall.

Kokepelli First Timer
Tried this course as it was a more reasonable cost for the time of year. Fairways and greens were in good shape, but many areas of repair and reconstruction off fairway had impact on course difficulty. Pace of play was a little slow at times, still finished in 4 1/2 hrs.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Would play again for same or less price.
