Kokopelli Golf Course

A well designed course that has fallen into neglect; it's pretty pathetic when the tee boxes don't even have two markers to tee off in between. Someone should purchase this course, and fix it up to playable condition. The layout is nice, and it has potential to be a great course.

Lots of hazards and many tight fairways = a high slope rating.

What makes the course really hard are the conditions... the bunkers are a joke (no sand, but filled with rocks, dirt, dead grass, live grass, mud water and weeds galore). This coarse has lots of dirt/desert areas and lots of standing/casual water. And, many of the rough areas just off the fairways are covered with unusual weeds wherein balls just disappear appear.

This coarse would be fabulous if they worked on improving the aforementioned poor conditions

We were 4 and a half hours out and still has 5 holes to go. Wait time is unacceptable ! Need a ranger out there to move the game along.. we were disgusted with this course. Never coming back. There's too many better courses in area !!!!!

Have played this course in previous years and always hoping it has improved but this will probably be the last time we play this course. High weeds all along the fairways and lots of standing water in the fairways if your ball lands in it you will not find your ball.it, used to be one of my favorites so pretty disappointed in the maintenance of this course. The staff is very friendly guess thats the best I can say about this course.

We had four guys. Not a one scored under 100. We usually score high 80’s to lower 90’s. We played from the t boxes that were around 5800 yards. We found fairways very difficult to hit from. Mounds on the side. You need to keep in the center of fairways.

We found coarse very difficult as we scattered the ball all around. Believe you need to have a handy cap from 10 to 15.

The greens were good.

Not sure why there was no Marshal checking on pace but it was ridiculously slow the first 9. Then because of no sign to call ahead for food on the turnaround we had to wait for at least 30min for food to continue. To top it off they forgot 1 of the items which is why it took 30min and not 20min.

Back nine was not nearly as slow but was still not moving as it should.

lots of dead areas, most bunkers looked to be abandoned, a couple of low HC's I played with suggested they turn some bunkers into grass if they are not going to maintain them, they also took some free lifts out as some bunkers were nothing but hard packed clay.

course needs a lot of TLC Sand traps are just hard pan with weeds, fairways and greens need to be cut regularly which is just an after thought at this course. Play once a year just to remind my self of its condition. They just use this course as a money make and don't reinvest anything. Year after year it just keeps getting worse

I have yet to play this course not overwatered and flooded. Hit a tee shot in the fairway and you will find it in mud. Your shoes will be muddy for sure. Definitely WAY overpriced for what it is.

Very nice people. But they have stopped totally taking care of the course. Bunkers not playable. Hard pan just off the fairways. Sprinkler system must be having problems. Puddles in many areas not from rain but broken sprinklers.

This a really a great track. We used to play it often. It has now reached the unplayable list.

I know the snow birds will pay anything and no one feels that they need to put any care in the course but this was beyond belief.

The course is in pretty tough shape. There was no sand in the bunkers. They had just over seeded so it was cart path only.It looked as though the fairways had not beed cut in a few weeks and all the greens were in tough shape. We played there in 2018 at the same time of year and it was in great shape!! that's why we went back. Hopefully they can get it back.

Went here with two buddies today - will never go again. The course conditions were abysmal.

One thing to note at the top, and this isn’t a knock on the course but something to know - this is a very challenging course. The fairways are the narrowest I’ve ever played, water is in play a bit, and you never have a flat lie. If you’re looking for an easy time with buddies, this is not your course.

Now, there is 0 sand in any of the bunkers. I’m not saying saying the sand is in poor condition, I’m saying it was nonexistent. Half the bunkers had fungus growing in them.

About half the holes have rough for fairways. We lost 7 balls off the tee literally in the fairway because the grass was so long. I’m talking around 5 inches at least. You’d think you hit it in a penalty area.

The greens were rock solid. I hit a lob wedge from 60 out and landed it about 5 feet short of a red flag, where it proceeded to launch through the entire green and off the back side. This was an issue on every hole, making chipping and wedging in incredibly difficult.

Pace of play was actually good, but I put three stars because we were rushed by the marshal multiple times even though we finished the front nine in 2:15 and the back nine in 2 flat - average time for a round and in accordance with their pace of play rules. It’s not our fault their was a two-some in front of us who slept us in the dust, and a three-some behind us who were probably +5 handicaps based off how they were playing. They were never waiting more than 5 minutes, and if they wanted to play through, we would’ve let them.

The layout of the greens were nice, with challenging hills and breaks. But they weren’t rolled properly or consistently so the speed was vastly different from hole to hole.

Even the carts weren’t very nice, and the entire course was covered in goose crap. I get to a point, this is going to happen, but not the entire course. Shows they don’t clean it up at all. Also, on holes 9 and 10, don’t use a yellow ball - the holes border the driving range which doesn’t have a back net so there’s just balls all over these holes.

I can’t believe I spent $70 to play here. This course should be $20, and I still probably wouldn’t go.
