About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Golfer Reviews
Not in good shape.
Fairways and greens were OK. Rough was terrible, frequently bare areas. Sand traps were terrible as well, with grass growing in them, and never raked and sand in the traps is useless. definitely not worth the price.
Yikes
For the $$ charged, l expect much more. Very poor drainage, lots of standing water, and 2 days after rain. No sand in the bunkers, were told by the people we golfed with, that they were told to play them all as ground under repair. Half the tee box markers were missing, garbage cans overflowing, greens were in rough shape. Guys golfing in muscle shirts?? Range balls all over the place.
VERY DISAPPOINTING!!
Meh
Fairways were in terrible shape and bunkers even worse. Greens were fine. Paying $100 to not have driving range access or even water in the cart was a bit much.
Layout was fine, tight fairways means driver has to be straight. Just not even close to value for $$.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We apologize for the inconvenience faced without having access to the practice range. We hope you consider giving us the chance to provide an improved experience.
Course in poor shape
Course could be an enjoyable play but was in pathetic condition from tee boxes to greens, totally ridiculous charging $90 for a trip around this track when not worth 1/2 that, will not play again and unfortunately will not recommend to anyone either
We appreciate your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share. We are sorry to hear your experience wasn't great. Hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
The traps were horrible no yardage markers the overall condition of the course was bad not worth 60.00
The overall condition of the course was very bad not worth the $60.00 we paid
We appreciate you sharing your feedback. Your feedback is valuable to us and we appreciate the opportunity to learn where we've missed the mark. The team will continue to look for ways to improve on the experience.
Save your Money
The course was in very poor condition. Not sure why there was no sand in the traps, awful. No water in ball washers. Greens slow with many ball divots. On course washroom porta facilities were over flowing. Any of the course associates that we met both on & in the clubhouse were very good. This course used to be a good course to play but has gone down hill. Wouldn't play this course again, the value wasn't even close to what golfers should expect in a golf course. Save your money, hitting balls on a range would be a better experience than playing this course.
Plant some grass
Course conditions were awful compared to the price. Bare spots on all but 2 holes. Not going back.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry your experience wasn't up to par. The team is working hard on the areas negatively impacting guest experience and we hope you'd consider giving us the chance to show what we're working on.
Course
Course needs to be more honest with the condition of course and what one pays, not worth the $70.00.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. This will be shared with management.
Kokopelli
First a frost delay. Then delays on every hole. This is golf in Arizona from Feb-April. Sand traps are atrocious-pulled ball out of every one. Other players stated same thing.
I did notice the massive increase in pricing EVERYWHERE. A lot of gouging going on in Phoenix area. Many people I spoke with said same thing-Not happy.
Thank you for the constructive criticism, and sorry we couldn’t make it a 5 star experience. We’ll use this as a learning experience as to how we can improve.
Could be Better
Once again no ball ball washers on any tee boxes. Traps are all harder than a rock. Uneven grass cut on the fairways and around the greens. This course could be real nice with some attention. Hard to recommend it the way it is right now.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Your comments have been shared with the team to improve these areas impactive guest experience. We hope you consider joining again to find a more positive experience. We are happy to share that Bunkers all received a facelift this second week of March and we continue to tackle additional sore spots.
Absolute dog water!
Took a couple friends of mine and they are still learning and we let people play threw and staff member drove up and started yelling at us “to pick it up” and we tried to explain the situation and all he said was “I don’t care figure it out!” Super unprofessional we tried to talk to management and we were told he couldn’t be bothered just to find out later he was laughing with the guy who was yelling at us with all that being said if it’s not meant for new golfers that should really be disclosed also the course is really bad I seen someone compare it to a cow pasture and it’s not to far off…

Unfriendly staff
Slow pace and some of staff members thought they can just jump holes in front of patrons. The sand traps are full of mud and weeds and locking any yardage markers on the course.

Kokopelli Golf Course
Course is in need of some major attention, especially the sand traps. The greens are in poor condition, and the side areas along the fairways are a mess,,,, but saying all that, the course layout is one of the better ones we've played on this year. Current management has decided to let things go, and rake in the profits. Kokopelli in the right hands could be a treasure find, but that's not about to happen any time soon, and course will retain it's med. low average.
u314162394644, thank you for taking the time to leave a review, even if your experience wasn’t great. We’re sorry to hear we missed the mark. Please know that your feedback has been shared with the team. Hope you’ll give us another chance in the future.
Worse than a cow pasture
This shouldn't even be called a golf course. To call it a cow pasture is an insult to the dairy industry. Charging $80 to play this course is a crime, they should pay you. Finding a blade of grass is a miracle, the bunkers are devoid of anything except water, and several holes didn't even have tee box markers. The worse course I've played on since I was here a year ago, never again!
We sincerely regret that your experience missed the mark. We are serious about using feedback to improve and want to provide the most enjoyable experience possible. We hope you give us another chance soon to share a more positive experience. Feedback continues to drive change and we are happy to have just finished improving the bunkers throughout the course. We hope you consider giving us another chance.
Rough shape
The layout is great but it needs some love to get it back to recommendable level
Dollar value is ok
Most bunkers are now just waste bunkers
We’re sorry to hear about your experience, robertdale, but the feedback is appreciated. We will pass along your feedback to management. We are excited to share that bunker work has been completed on all 18 holes to improve this area plaguing guest experience We hope you visit again soon to mind an improved experience.
Don't waste your money
The overall course was very run down and poorly maintained . The sand traps full of weeds and were like concert . The tee boxes had so many broken tees and a lot of them had missing tee markers. This course is not worth your money or time. So many other nice golf courses to choose from, don't choose this one!
We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. Please know that your feedback has been shared with the team and we will continue to work on improving the areas we've missed the mark on.
