About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Muddy Golf
Golf is always a challenge. This course added to it with all the mud. There were some very nice fairways if you could get past the mud and dirt.
Good overall condition.
I’ve played this course for many years. I’ve played it in really good condition, and also in terrible condition. Currently, the course is in really decent shape. Greens and run up areas are green and plush. It would be awesome if folks who play there would take some pride and repair their ball marks. Price was good and seemed fair.
I have the following observations that I’d like to share:
The tee boxes could use some attention. Many of them are crowned or a bit hilly making tee placement a challenge. Also, if the boxes are not going to be cut every day, why can’t someone take care of the broken tees that are just laying there? Perhaps place a small box for golfers to toss them in.
Too much goose crap. Enough said.
Areas on the back 9 that used to hold water need to be cleaned up. It looks trashy and detracts from what was once a beautiful golf course.
The golf carts need to be cleaned. Not sure what outside services is doing, but it’s not cleaning the carts after use.
This is a fine golf course that gets a lot of negative word of mouth from folks who haven’t been there in a while. Time to start the positive speak. I’ll be back to play again. Enjoyed it today.

Okay for the price
This course has so much potential to return to something special, all of the pieces are there it just needs a little more TLC. Some areas are over watered while other areas just need some more maintenance. For the price and relative to other courses at the same price point it is really pretty good. It is expensive to run a golf course and putting the limited resources available into the right areas pays dividends, this place is close. Excessive ball marks on greens, fairway divots not filled, and other day to day deficiencies are common from course to course. I would say I got what I expected for the price, some things were below expectations while others were better, it depends on what your golf peeve is as to whether this course is a good value. I will go back because I know what to expect and what to accept.

Great course
If the price was a bit lower it would be an amazing course. It was a bit muddy but still fun. Green were great and staff is always friendly.

Greens
We were the third group to go out and it looked like there was a hail storm on the greens. There was divots all over the greens making it frustrating. For $79 definitely not worth the price. If you enjoy the zen of spending 2-5 minutes fixing divots to putt on every green I would recommend, otherwise it’s a strong pass.

Under Construction
A lot of the homes are under rec-onstruction. The pace is part was slow.
Hi dha1776, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Kokopelli Golf Club has needed some improvements, and we are currently working on them as you noticed. Although, I wouldn't say any holes are "under construction", we currently have 3 holes that are Cart Path Only, but all greens and tee boxes are open and seem to be in pretty good shape. We apologize for the Pace of Play as we are always trying our best to keep the pace moving and having our marshal out their help assisting as well. We hope to see you again.
Don’t Do It!
Course is in absolutely terrible condition! Pace of play is slow because the useable fairway is so small, no roll due to inconsistent grass and water. Course layout was reversed, update with Garmin!!! Not scenic, the view of the junkyard was amusing. Never had 2 sales interactions on a golf course- Make a Wish and Arcis. $83 is still too much, $40-50 and a Marshall that realizes people out there are there because their game matches the course - needs work!! Stop the lies on reviews, it’s a crappy course .

Condition
Too much watering course was muddy on every hole. Traps were unkept, lots of foot prints, need more than one rake for each trap. Lift, clean and place was needed throughout.

Avoid until new management
would recommended 5 courses before going here, shape is actually pretty good but pace of play was miserable for it being an empty course. Should be a ranger that moves people along, took us 3 hours to play 9 with 10 groups on the course.

Challenging but fun
Staff were very friendly and helpful since it was my first time here. The fairways are full of undulations and many of them have narrow-ish landing areas. If you miss the fairway you’re on dirt but playable. The greens were mostly good but some had many un-repaired ball marks. Fix your ball marks people! My only knock is the low areas were muddy from watering. I had a 12:31 tee time and there was still standing water in places.

No tee time course
This is an okay course. Nothing special all other decent course had no tee time and this was a great filler course. Started on time and pace was fair. Very muddy and duck/geese poop everywhere.
They continue to change up course and add value.
