About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Great layout
Course conditions suspect and washrooms deplorable but a great layout and difficult. So far my favorite course in the Mesa area.

Round in Kokopelli
There was a freeze delay that impacted the start and pace of the round. Nevertheless, the staff gave a basket of practice balls on the house.

Bathrooms
The course was in good shape and fun to play, unfortunately the course bathrooms were outhouses. For ladies it was atrocious. The holding bins for the sewage was inches from the top. These outhouses were not pumped out in a long while. This was not acceptable for men let alone the women.

Fun & Challenging
This course is got a lot of green space for this area. There are a lot of moguls and large sand bunkers that make it challenging. We would have liked a map on the score card or on the cart because it can get confusing deciding which path to take. All of the employees were friendly. We enjoyed our round and will return.

Bathroom
The out houses were absolutely the most disgusting thing. Make sure you don’t drink anything because you don’t wanna have to use those

Cleanliness is a top priority for us, and we're actively addressing this issue to ensure a better experience for everyone. We do have them cleaned out by an outside company weekly and checked by our staff daily, we apologize if it missed by our staff that day. I will speak with the team, and we will get better on this matter.
New Years Golf
The course conditions are terrible and the carts are all over 20 years old . Many holes are mud as it’s being overwatered and no grass

Muddy Golf
Golf is always a challenge. This course added to it with all the mud. There were some very nice fairways if you could get past the mud and dirt.

Good overall condition.
I’ve played this course for many years. I’ve played it in really good condition, and also in terrible condition. Currently, the course is in really decent shape. Greens and run up areas are green and plush. It would be awesome if folks who play there would take some pride and repair their ball marks. Price was good and seemed fair.
I have the following observations that I’d like to share:
The tee boxes could use some attention. Many of them are crowned or a bit hilly making tee placement a challenge. Also, if the boxes are not going to be cut every day, why can’t someone take care of the broken tees that are just laying there? Perhaps place a small box for golfers to toss them in.
Too much goose crap. Enough said.
Areas on the back 9 that used to hold water need to be cleaned up. It looks trashy and detracts from what was once a beautiful golf course.
The golf carts need to be cleaned. Not sure what outside services is doing, but it’s not cleaning the carts after use.
This is a fine golf course that gets a lot of negative word of mouth from folks who haven’t been there in a while. Time to start the positive speak. I’ll be back to play again. Enjoyed it today.

Okay for the price
This course has so much potential to return to something special, all of the pieces are there it just needs a little more TLC. Some areas are over watered while other areas just need some more maintenance. For the price and relative to other courses at the same price point it is really pretty good. It is expensive to run a golf course and putting the limited resources available into the right areas pays dividends, this place is close. Excessive ball marks on greens, fairway divots not filled, and other day to day deficiencies are common from course to course. I would say I got what I expected for the price, some things were below expectations while others were better, it depends on what your golf peeve is as to whether this course is a good value. I will go back because I know what to expect and what to accept.
