Average Track, Overpriced
It’s not a bad course at all. It’s just not that special. I felt like a lot of the 4’s were just driver, wedge, putter so it got a little boring. The 3’s were longer so it offered a challenge. All the greens had little to no break, so there wasn’t a lot of skill besides getting the speed right. Everything was a little overgrown, tee boxes, fairways, etc. A little disappointed for $60+
Stop overwatering!
The fairways are underwater and it is impossible to “bounce” a ball onto a green. It’s way too wet!
I Love This Course! Five Stars.
The people at Western Skies are their best asset, and the course is really fun to play for all skill levels. Straight-ahead layout with wide fairways, excellent grass, and big flat greens allow even hackers like me to score. You'll love it like I do. Five Stars! R. R.
Won't play again in the afternoon
You have to pay for range balls here. First time out at 1:50 and was paired up with another beginner. We kept pace but there were three groups of four in front that were playing much slower. Two foursomes got backed up behind us waiting as well. The course layout was good with plenty of wide open fairways. Not too many hazards to watch out for, so I would recommend this for beginners. There is water present and you have to hit over water on a couple holes but plenty of room to hit to the side.
Fairways are close together; multiple times other groups came into our fairways to hit their balls back into their direction. Because of the delay in pace, I did not get to finish my round, disappointed in that, especially for paying over $40. With my tee time, I should have had at least 30-45 mins extra. Not sure when the best time to play here would be but Sat. afternoon is not one of them.
Great Course, Great Staff!
Five stars for Western SKies! You'll love it, regardless of your skill level. (It features wide fairways, big flat greens, and short, straight ahead par fours. The staff there will treat you like royalty every single time! R. R.
Great shape
The course was in great shape n pace of play was excellent. The only complaint I have is that there are few if any ball washers n not much drinking water on the course. Otherwise it was a great experience. Even the grill was top notch. Home made potato chips were a pleasant surprise.
Great Course, Great People!
Any skill level will enjoy Western Skies. The course is always in almost perfect shape, and the design is very forgiving. The staff are the best thing about Western Skies, including Maddie, Pays, Kyle, Jim, Ed, Mike, Isaac, Matt, Ryan, and all the rest! Five Stars! R. R.
Excellent east valley option
I hadn't played here for many years. I was pleased overall. The conditions were good and the staff is friendly.
Great Course (except for the wet bunkers!)
Great, forgiving course. Fun for all skill levels. They've always had nice dry, fluffy sand. This year, they've started watering all the bunkers every day! WHY? Peace.
