About
The golf course at the Western Skies Golf Club has a traditional layout with many different challenges and beautiful views. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and valleys, the course offers a taste of the countryside, which is further enhanced by the many aged Mesquite and Pinon trees sprinkled throughout. It features tree-lined fairways with generous landing areas and tricky water hazards. Two notable holes are the 4th and 7th holes, both par 3s. Although it is a modest 186 yards, the 4th hole requires a carry over water to a heavily bunkered green. Western Skies Golf Club's 18th hole is a drivable par four with water along the right side, making this an exciting finishing hole.

Nice course
Course us in good condition. Great course for recreational golfers. A few water holes but other than the 3rd hole they don't create too much of a challenge. Greens and fairways are green and lush, I would consider the greens more on the slow side.

Course has quite a few wet areas that I haven’t seen here before.
Other than that love playing this course.
Good Course
Played on 3/4, party of four. Have played this course a few times and it’s a good track. Tee boxes good, fairways mostly good with some really wet areas due to morning watering, greens good, bunkers are the usual desert conditions which is dirt/rock/sand and hard to pitch out off. There is gps on carts, ice chests, no washers. Staff is nice, beverage cart around frequently. Be aware this is desert and if you’re off the fairway you are in dirt mostly. Would like to see someone picking up trash. Golfers need to fill divots and fix on the greens. No marshals were noted. Otherwise it is a good course.
Good value
Playing Winter golf in Phoenix for under 100 bucks is always a challenge. The western skies course is laid out through a neighborhood of homes. The fairways are good, greens are good and the traps actually have sand in them. The pace of play this time of year is always slow, but my round was finished in just over four hours,so no complaints.
For the Phoenix area, this course was a good value.

Pace of play good. Course in good condition and staf helpful and friendly. Good experience.
Basic
Easy course. Nothing to really distinguish it. Very playable with few danger spots. The course is in good shape and our 3 some played in just under 4 hours with a 8:25 Tuesday tee time.
Round at Western Skies on a Monday
course was in pretty good shape. There were a lot of muddy areas...not sure why. Pace of play was good and the cart girl came by several times which was nice even if we didn't need anything. All employees were cordial!
My second favorite course in AZ.
Price, overall conditions and pace of play are all acceptable for AZ (which tolerates high prices and very slow play).
