Western Skies Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Western Skies Golf Club has a traditional layout with many different challenges and beautiful views. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and valleys, the course offers a taste of the countryside, which is further enhanced by the many aged Mesquite and Pinon trees sprinkled throughout. It features tree-lined fairways with generous landing areas and tricky water hazards. Two notable holes are the 4th and 7th holes, both par 3s. Although it is a modest 186 yards, the 4th hole requires a carry over water to a heavily bunkered green. Western Skies Golf Club's 18th hole is a drivable par four with water along the right side, making this an exciting finishing hole.

Nice Par 72 Course in Good Shape
I liked Western Skies. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape, (even though most of the bunkers were wet) I liked the short par 4's and the big, fairly flat greens. The staff were nice, and the cart girl Leah was there all day! Pace of play was excellent. FIVE STARS!

Fun Course, Fun Staff, Quick Par 72
Western Skies has wide fairways, big flat greens and short par 4's. The tees, fairways and greens are always in great shape, and there's no long desert carries off the tee. The entire staff there always treats people like family, and you won't find that everywhere! (They could try to stop watering the bunkers though.) Rich R.
Western Skies is a good summer course.
Everyone was pleasant at the clubhouse and the pace was great.
The course is getting water but there are a few bare spots on some fairways that are just unavoidable after all the heat of an Arizona summer. All it is very playable.
The greens were rolling true and recovering well from aeration. They are getting water also! The speed was slow at first but sped up as the the day got warmer. I have no complaints about the greens at all.
I enjoyed this course and will be playing it again soon
Fun Course, Great Staff!
FIVE STARS for Western Skies. (It's not Torrey Pines, but I played in 2 1/2 hrs for $36, and they do have pine trees!) lol This course is forgiving for all skill levels, and the staff there treats everyone like family! Besides the wet bunkers, the course is always in tip-top shape. (hint, hint) lol
I Played in Under 3 Hours and Course Was In Great Condition.
Western Skies is my favorite because of straight, wide fairways, big flat greens and short par 4's. Somehow the grass is always green on the fairways and the greens, 12 months a year. The whole staff treats everyone like family, and you won't find that every day!
Always liked it.
I’ve always like playing WS. Fairways during the heat of Summer aren’t that bad and the greens are really better than expected given the extremely high temperatures. The bunkers are mixed, some are good and some aren’t but mostly escapable. The course is a fair challenge even for better golfers. Summer pace of play is not an issue. The golf staff has always been friendly and accommodating.
Wednesday league
Played here on Wednesday July 16, back 9 twice. Had a lot of fun, but to the Wednesday league, some of you guys are jerks and have no respect, yeah started called our name out a couple of times but when we got to the T box we still had a couple mins to spare, we were on time and not late. And as soon we got on the box one of you yelled out and tried to rush us. And I’m glad we left you guys way behind. Didn’t slow the pace of play. Hopefully staff can read this review so that they can tell you guys to have some respect!
Fun Course, Fantastic People!
Western Skies is always in fantastic shape (somehow), and even I can score there. (I shot 80 in 2 1/2 hours for $16 with my Golf Pass discounts.) The staff there all treat me like family, especially Maddie, Leah, Payson, Jim, Ed, Isaac, Geoff and Matt. I KNOW it's not Pebble Beach, but I always reward Western Skies with their well-deserved FIVE STARS!
Great Course
This course is in excellent condition for the time of year. Greens ran true and actually had grass on them. Pace of play was good until a group of "Men's league" decided to become a group of 7 on the last 3 holes. Highly recommend this course.
FIVE STARS for the Good People and the Fun Course at Western Skies!
I played Western Skies in 2 1/2 hours, sometimes playing two balls, and using my Golf Pass discounts, I paid about $10. Unlike many courses, they are not understaffed during summer, and every person at Western Skies always treats me like family. It's a great par 72 course in fantastic shape 12 months/year. FIVE STARS!
Easy Long Range Course
Check in was a breeze but the guy working the counter couldn’t have cared less about our business.
We had a tee time around noon, insinuated that we wanted to play 30 minutes early and told us to jump right up to the #1 tee box. No, we’re going to practice first. Neglected to offer us range balls, just an awful experience at the club shop.
Bar cart was nice to have on a hot day, she provided us enough service to keep up hydrated.
Course was nice, good condition, greens were great. Sand traps were in disastrous condition and a lot of desert dirt and rock, beware of those clubs. Also, does no one fix their divots anymore? Yikes, those tee boxes needed reviving FAST. What’s happened to golf?
Only a couple drink hazards but a great course for any skill set.
We’ll be back, it was a good time and hard to beat price using the Hot Deals offer.
