About
The golf course at the Western Skies Golf Club has a traditional layout with many different challenges and beautiful views. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and valleys, the course offers a taste of the countryside, which is further enhanced by the many aged Mesquite and Pinon trees sprinkled throughout. It features tree-lined fairways with generous landing areas and tricky water hazards. Two notable holes are the 4th and 7th holes, both par 3s. Although it is a modest 186 yards, the 4th hole requires a carry over water to a heavily bunkered green. Western Skies Golf Club's 18th hole is a drivable par four with water along the right side, making this an exciting finishing hole.

Atrocious pace of play
2nd time in a row playing this course where we didn’t get to finish a full round in 5 hours. Tee time was 1pm, at 12:55 overheard someone convince the Marshall to let them squeeze in a 3some between us and the 4-some in front of us. Ended up teeing off 35 minutes after our tee time and spent the rest of the round waiting 20 minutes at every tee box, and having 3 groups pile up behind us before the fairway was clear. Beautiful course, but the pace of play completely ruins it. I even called the pro shop on the 3rd tee because the pace of play was so atrocious after 2 holes already. Only worth playing if you can tee off before 11am
Course is looking good
Playing golf cart path only is tough but we enjoyed ourselves.
Overall Excellent
Really didn’t know what to expect coming to a course that isn’t charging very much this time of year. First off, that staff is excellent. Best staff that I have seen in the Arizona area. Course is in great condition shortly after oversees. CPO today but still finished the round in under 4 hours.

Course in decent shape considering reseeding. Good pace of play. Greens pretty slow and bumpy. Mediocre landscape and views.
Course is in Good Shape
Tee boxes mainly level, fairways lush/full and mowed, sand traps full and soft, collars a bit soft/damp (due to heavy watering), greens firm but a little slow, while rough was sparse. Great temperatures, with a subtle breeze made for a wonderful round. Pace was good (under 4 hours), with our foursome keeping up with the threesome in front of us. It was still Cart Path Only (CPO), but should ready for normal play in another 10 days or so. Great value with TeeOff Hot Deals. Get out and enjoy yourself on this course … soon!
