Falcon Golf Club
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business. The land was redeveloped to
an industrial/warehouse area.
Located near the Estrella and White Tank Mountains, the Falcon Golf Club is an affordable, user-friendly course with an interesting layout. The front nine has a target-style layout with a desert landscape while the back nine has a more traditional design. The greens are medium-sized with a subtle break and the fairways are wide open. Water hazards come into play on two holes and there are numerous bunkers as well, especially on the back nine. The signature hole of the golf course is the par-3, fifth hole. This notable hole has water to the right of the green and bunkers on the front right and left. With its location just south of Luke Air Force Base, fighter jets are regularly seen flying over Falcon Golf Club.

Corduroy fairways longer than rough.
Corduroy fairways longer than rough, 4-6 in on high part of ripple, 2 in on low, very hard to find or hit ball from fairway. not many players (the locals knew better). Price very high for course condition.
What happened to Falcon???
Terrible Terrible Terrible! Its starts out in the rude club house. We have the 2nd tee time of the morning, but our tee time is not honored because we "booked on golfnow.com and that site is not compatible with our computers today." So we got bumped 4 groups down. So we wait and wait and finally tee off to terrible course conditions. The worst sands I've seen in Arizona. Mud traps not sand traps. Greens and fairways in bad shape. It looks like they are going out of business and are saving money on maintenance.
Old, worn out golf course.
Looks like very little money is spent on maintenance. Sand traps are currently not is use. Looks like they haven't been used in ages. Hard to hear each other talk due to all the jet noise nearby. This will be the last time that I play this golf course.
Poor course
Bad greens bad fairways bad bunkers bad clubhouse other than that great
Falcon Down
This course is usually in good shape and is a good value. The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways had many bare spots. The bunkers were in horrible shape because of an over growth of weeds and inconsistent sand. It was a poor value at $33. I will not play it again this winter.
Poor condition
Fairways very sparse and tight lies. Greens shaggy and bumpy. Club house is a joke
forgiving fairways
I enjoy Falcon you can relax and enjoy wide open fairways avoiding bunkers hills and nice water hole makes you hit different shots I think allow you to improve your game have fun everyone should try it and experience the sound of freedom when the jets go by Awesome feelings , would love to have beer cart come around will work up thirst?
Needs some care
Fairways were alittle sparse. Weeds along fairways.Greens were in good condition. Things were a little rundown need some tlc. Had a great time.
Nice course
The course was in good condition but the play was slow. A lot of golfers and a lot of gofers!!!! Watch your balls.
Convenient Course
Close, convenient and nice public course. Greens ok, fairways poor. Very nice staff!
Good value
I booked this for $22.
It's like a municipal course. Not country club condition but it was a fun $20 course.
Great course
Overall this is a great course to play. The only downside that I noticed was the jets flying over. Even that wasn't horrible though
Enjoyed the course
Played from the tips, glad I was joined up with
3 others who have played course previously.
fun course, great value
Course was in nice shape, greens were in good condition. It was very distracting(in a good way) to have the F-16s and F-35s taking off and landing next to the course(at Luke AFB). I recommend this layout and will play here again.
the price was right though, but wouldn't go back
we just went to play and watch the fighter jets takeoff and land at the airbase.the course is pretty rough and not very well taken care of.needs a lot of TLC.it is a busy course.took us 5 1/2 hours to play 18.fairways and greens were okay.they must have extra dollars to groom it nicer.
Challaging but fair!
A very enjoyable course but you have to keep the ball In the fairway. Greens were hard to hold approach shots. Once on they putted true but fast.
Mowers must have broken
Was told to play here because of the air force base and all the jets practicing - that was the highlite. The first 7 greens had not been cut for a few days (true) - it was like trying to put on a tee box - very long and shaggy. the 8 and 9th greens were closely cut - then 10 thru 18 were a variety of lengths - never in 30 years of golf have I encountered that before. Impossible to play a steady game. I assume they ran out of money for the workers or the cutters were out of order.
Good course,
Intermediate course. Good price. Entertaining adjacent events to watch. (Car racing, Luke's airforce base)
Slow greens. Slow play.
My playing partners were pointing out the recent improvements. That's good. Keep it up.
Fairways ok, little thin.
Greens veeeeeeeery slow!
Perimeter ragged.
Bunkers ok.
No ranger to help pace.
My recommendation has a price point.
$28 weekdays.
$34 weekends.
