Falcon Golf Club
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business. The land was redeveloped to
an industrial/warehouse area.
Located near the Estrella and White Tank Mountains, the Falcon Golf Club is an affordable, user-friendly course with an interesting layout. The front nine has a target-style layout with a desert landscape while the back nine has a more traditional design. The greens are medium-sized with a subtle break and the fairways are wide open. Water hazards come into play on two holes and there are numerous bunkers as well, especially on the back nine. The signature hole of the golf course is the par-3, fifth hole. This notable hole has water to the right of the green and bunkers on the front right and left. With its location just south of Luke Air Force Base, fighter jets are regularly seen flying over Falcon Golf Club.

Nothing Special
With it being prime rates this course is nothing special. Greens are slow and fluffy and the course is over watered, use some of that water in the summer when the course needs it. Don't water it so much and mow the greens everyday and it would be nice.
good course
this is a great course for the money, I have been playing this since it open
Good value for the money.
We were paired up with another twosome. Play was consistent with waiting only a couple of times. Course was in pretty good shape. Greens didn't quite roll the way I expected some of the times.
Hidden gem
couldnt ask for anything better of a course for $20... Fairways, greens, and tee boxes were immaculate...will definitely play there again this winter
Good course for the price
Greens and fairways were in nice shape, and the course was enjoyable. The Staff needs a little training! The fellow on the cash register seemed confused that we prepaid for our tee times online, but he did eventually figure it out. We went out to warm up and he said they would call us to the first tee, but no one ever did. So we just went over there and hung out with three other foursomes waiting to tee off. We all sorted it out by ourselves. Play was veeeeery slow - waited on every hole, and by #14, we were waiting on every shot. Group behind us bailed at #10 and just replayed the front nine instead. Course might benefit from a Starter and a Ranger to keep an eye on time management.
Its a long course for distances
I have played this course before many times, I enjoy it very much, for I enjoy driving the ball and its pretty wide open, I will say it is very very close to Lukes airfirce base, so some may not care for it. But I enjoy it as you get to see the big birds......as an extra bonus
Slow play so relax and enjoy the loud planes
Checking in the man in front of me had the same tee time as the foursome I was in. This mix-up was handled by the desk. We were not told that it was cart path golf. This caused slow play making it 5 hours for 18 holes.
The bunkers were like cement.
The greens were hairy thus very slow.
I'd recommend waiting a few weeks to play it again.
This course had no great features.
Golf course was cart path only. Did not show up that way on Golf Now. Was not worth half of what we paid. The reason I gave the course a good rate of play is because no one was there.
Live the jets!
Right next to the AFB with fighter jets taking off and landing. Always great to watch them in action. Great little dessert course.
great deal
This course is a great deal for the money. Though they were preparing for overseed thecourse was still playable. Also....there. was some maintenance done since my last visit making the sightlines better on a few holes.
Getting ready to overseed
Greens and fairways cut short, chipping green area needs some work. Mosquitoes are almost gone. Course will be great after over seeding.
Always fun
I have played this course a number of times. It is an enjoyable round with a decent pace of play on weekends and especially on weekdays. This track has a nice variety of holes to keep your interest. There are a couple of tough and long par threes where conservative play will be rewarded with par. This course backs up to the runway by Luke AFB. The F16s are often doing maneuvers. A free airshow is included in the price of admission. A fun track with friendly and helpful staff.
Luke AFB and Jets Jets Jets
Great rates. Municiple style golf on challenging but fair layout with plenty of bunkers. Most exhilarating, if you like this sort of thing, are the Jets that take of and land the entire time you are playing the course as the runway for Luke AFB is literally a 7 iron away. Enjoyed the experience.
Want to hear F16Jets?
Very loud jet noises the whole time. Course in fair condition but ok with it as we didn't pay very much for the round. As we were a twosome we had to wait for each shot.
This course was at one time average now it is going downhill.
This course maybe better after reseeding. It appears they have "let it go" until then. Traps need care, one porta potty is on such an angle it is hardly usable and using the word "greens" for the greens is not accurate.
Great Course
I had originally set up a tee time at Pebble Creek, but it was cancelled for some reason so I was left with no place to golf. I called Falcon and they were able to get me a tee time within 30 minutes. I showed up at the course and was surprised by just how nice the course was. We had an excellent round that was challenging for both of us. I will definately play this course again soon.
Nice, but lots of mosquitos
This was my first time playing Falcon, and I was expecting a so-so course for the price I paid. However, I was nicely surprised! The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape, and the bunkers were mostly soft and playable. Some greens had some brown spots, but overall the conditions were good. Four out of five par threes played long, but there were plenty of shorter par fours to make up for it. The only negative was that the back nine seemed to have lots of mosquitoes. I don't know how much a course can control that, but my buddy and I rushed through the nine to avoid being bitten to death--I should have known something was up when the clubhouse had cans of bug spray for sale!
needs help
greens in terrible shape and overall no so hot. been playing this course for over 6 years and it usually is pretty good but not today.
Mosquitos
The course was in fair condition but there were so many mosquitos on every hole that they were biting us six at a time. We were never warned when we checked in. We tried to buy some repellent at the turn but they ran out. For health reasons, the area needs to be sprayed. I would suggest that you stay away until problem is taken care of.
Charlton Heston Would've Loved This Course
Why that headline? In the 1950's Chuck made a film called, "The Naked Jungle" based on the short story named, "Linangen and the Ants". Essentially a man versus nature in South America, where upon his plantation, that he carved out of the rain forest , is in the path of "Marrabunta" or the army ants, that eat everything in its path. Vegetation, animals, even Chuck and his new bride. The Army of Ants is in the billions. That is what the sand traps were like on this course. Infested!!! I won't get into the mosquito problem cause I am still scratching all the bites! These folks need some serious maintainence done soon. Looks like a nice course ruined.
Pump out the standing water, spray and save Chuck from the Ants! Never again. If you play, bring the Deet.
