Falcon Golf Club
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business. The land was redeveloped to
an industrial/warehouse area.
Located near the Estrella and White Tank Mountains, the Falcon Golf Club is an affordable, user-friendly course with an interesting layout. The front nine has a target-style layout with a desert landscape while the back nine has a more traditional design. The greens are medium-sized with a subtle break and the fairways are wide open. Water hazards come into play on two holes and there are numerous bunkers as well, especially on the back nine. The signature hole of the golf course is the par-3, fifth hole. This notable hole has water to the right of the green and bunkers on the front right and left. With its location just south of Luke Air Force Base, fighter jets are regularly seen flying over Falcon Golf Club.

Really crowed!
Course is in good shape and staff was friendly. The course had too many foursomes and we waited for just about every shot. Over 5 hours to play a fairly easy course.
Great Day of Golf
I have played this course many times throughout the years and not once has it been a bad experience. The course is in great shape! Fairways were great and the greens are beautiful. The sand traps were soft and well maintained,...there are a lot of them so choose your shots wisely. The range was in great shape as well. The only negative is I'm pretty sure some of those gophers are trained to steal your ball haha. Twice I hit it just off the fairway and saw it land, once I got to the area I couldn't find my ball. I'm pretty sure a gopher has it. The staff are very friendly and courteous, no problems there. I do wish that the other golfers would fix their divots on the greens,...there were a lot that weren't fixed. Love this course,...it's quite challenging on most holes. I started off rough, but upped my game on the back nine and finished with a 79.
Great value
really good value for the money. Good course and staff. Was in great shape.
second time playing pace of play was very slow.
Overall the course was in good shape. I feel they need to send groups out slower.
Good value for the money
Sometimes when playing the Falcon you may get distracted by the fighter planes taking off and landing right next door. The course was in good shape. Some of the rough could have used a good clipping which the grounds crew was catching up on. We didn't stick around for lunch, so I only know about the breakfast which was alright.
Good day
It was a great day for golf at Falcon, the Jets were flying. You got to love it. Falcon was very busy and play was a bit slow. The beverage cart was not out, too bad because they could have made some money with as busy at it was. SO busy we had to wait for carts. They course was in good condition but the greens were on the slow side. No be deal once you get use to them. Great day cant wait for the next time, hope they have a Beverage cart out.
poor customer service
over booked, 5+ hr round of golf, booked on Golf Now their computer was not linked up to Golf Now customers who booked tee time on line, very rude staff
"Very slow greens"
Upon arriving found out that the 12:15 tee time had been reserved for several weeks but they to,d us to go ahead and get out on the course. We teed off at 11:50 so good thing we got there early. Ended up pairing with twosome in front of us on 3rd hole so pace improved. Did not like greens at all. Very high grass, no roll at all, balls would veer off from line of putt due to " furry greens"! Other pair said they are usually this way. If they would cut the greens to regulation the course would be okay and worth another round. Price was right otherwise. the rest of course was in good condition considering the rain received a few days prior. Didn't have time to use rest of facilities soon comment.
Played in the rain
We played in the rain, so the course played long. The course is always a great value, and has everything you need for a great day of golf!
course was surprising and disappointing
Booking and check in were fine but lack of range ball for practice was disappointing. Greens on course were slower than practice green, pin placements were good and fairways were more than average. Overall course and staff were well received by my group
Easy Going course with some difficult par threes
This a very laid back course and fun to golf next Luke Air Base. The Jets do take off and landings nearby which was fun to watch.
I do have a bone to pick however with Golf Now dot com and not the course. The reservation said collared shirt and no denim. Nothing could be further from the truth. Lots of T shirts and jeans here. We found this to be true of other corses in the area. So maybe this is the company default? It would be better if the website managers would actually check out this information before hand.
Nice group
Started as a single, but the threesome I was with turned into foursome. So I was paired with another single and a twosome, after I made the suggestion in the clubhouse. Pace of play was pretty good, which is usually a problem here. Greens were in pretty good shape and they have added sand to the bunkers, which is a welcome change. They have also added yardage markers. It is a good deal for the money.
Golf great, good friends, Jets flying
We enjoyed playing, our friends in awe of Sound of Freedom
Falcon
Overall, the course was in much better shape than what we were lead to believe. Worth the money to play once or twice if for nothing else the Air Force base. 5 par 3's were interesting.
Hmmmm....
We played Falcon because we were told it was a great course to Watch the F-16 falcons and the new F35 Lightning II's. oops we booked the holiday monday and no jets were flying. As for the course, Fairways were solid with short grass like hitting off asphalt, the greens were long "furry", bumpy and sloooow. The group we were paired up with were nice people, and we let them know if they thought this was ok, then Tres Rios would be an upgrade for them to try. It seemed like the round took forever but it was only about 5 hours. Spectacular sunset over the White Tank Mountains.
Not great
Played slow on a Monday 4 1/2 hours. A 5 some in front of us. Golf was never designed for 5-somes. Problem was they kept pace w the group in front of them. Too slow play for me and not great listening to planes all the time. But if you are looking foe cheap golf in the winter this fits thar bill.
Nice afternoon of golf.
4 of us played Falcon at 1 pm with a Golfnow rate of $30. Good value for the money. This was our first time playing here. My daughter was visiting and had to use rental clubs. Their inventory was very sparse but they did not charge us for them so cant complain. THe fairways were in good condition and the greens were very good. If you are not used to having jets taking off and landing near you you may not want to play this course. But having the Air Force Base right next door was kind of exciting. We will play this course again.
Really enjoyed our outing
This was the first time we played this course... Check in staff member was very friendly and accomodating.
Course was in good condition and the greens were quite good.... Also enjoyed watching the military jets take off and land nearby. Pace was a little slow, but still finished in just over 4 and 1/2 hours. Will play this course again as it was good value for money
Great course and views
Course was in great shape. Really enjoyed watching the jets take off and land at Luke Air Force base.
