Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
About
Now you can play in Peoria. Book a round at Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia, which Golf Digest magazine gave five stars out of five, an honor only a couple dozen North American golf courses share - no other in Arizona. Courses with the distinction include Bethpage Black, Pebble Beach, Bandon Dunes, TPC Sawgrass and Spyglass Hill. Five stars mean, according to the magazine, "Superb. Golf at its absolute best. Pay any price to play at least once in your life."
Gary Panks designed Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia to enhance the existing environment, and to make the course dramatic and playable. It's a round that should be on the list for a golf trip to Arizona. The par-72 course measures 7,291 yards from the Tournament tees.
After a round at Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia head to the Verde Grill for foods both familiar and inventive.

Play it some other time
Course is in terrible condition. Most of the fairways are hard dirt. Impossible to hit a wedge off the fairway. I've played this course numerous times.
dirt fairways
on your website you rated the course almost 5 stars and it should have been rated 1 star. very disappointed. I played 9 holes and left. I called Golf Now and asked for my money back. i ended getting half my money back and was very unhappy. There should have been an icon or something to let you know the course was in horrible shape. The only reason i played 9 because i had driven out there and decided to see how bad it was. I knew it was going to be really badly when spoke to some one who just played the course. He told me they took there ball and played out of the rough to get a decent lie. I repeat very disappointed. .
Do not play...there is no grass on the course
The winter conditions were amazing!!!! However, there is not grass on the course. At all. You are playing off of scraped fairways and mud/dirt. For $30. It is not worth it. It resembles a poorly run municipal course now.
hey @ckmhaynes - luckily, you're a total baller and can play in any conditions! :) Kate
always a great track but horrible conditions
this course is a great layout but on the day I played the fairways were almost all dirt!!! An advisory on GOLFNOW from the course about their overseed not having been done would have been great. I MEAN ALL THE FAIRWAYS WERE DIRT, ALL OF THEM! I ran into a senior level superintendant, and asked him what happened to the course. he got indignant with me and began to give me a lesson on overseeding. It was not appreciated, but I guess he got defensive about his course. lol. funny. the greens were great, but tough to play off of dirt.
Overseeding
Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The course was going over a lot of maintenance and over seeding. Fairways were dirt and gone. Usually they keep the course in great shape. I live in Scottsdale, so it's a good 45 min drive. GolfNow usually notifies you about seeding and arrogation, but not this time. I'm not sure if I'll make it back out there
Hey @Nick4784494
Like many courses in the Valley, we're working our way through the spring/summer transition period which is why you're seeing some browning areas on the course. Here we apply a herbicide to kill off the rye grass to allow the summer bermuda grass to emerge from its winter-long nap. Our agronomy team are monitoring the conditions closely and expect that our bermuda grass will soon create a nice green coverage - Kate
Burnt Out
The fairways were horrible to say the least. Burnt out grass and hard pan. Would purposely drive to the edges of the fairways to get a somewhat better surface to have a chance of striking the ball more purely. Bunkers were lacking sand, barely left footprints and felt like you were hitting off of the cartpath instead. This course needs to be shutdown and have proper maintenance done on it before more play should be allowed on it.
Good thing that I got a Hot Deal to play for a cheap price. Would have to pay me to play there under these conditions the next time, if I even considered coming back. I don't foresee any improvement being possible for at least 2 months.
Hey @bevinsr - we are right in the middle of our spring/summer transition period which is why you're seeing those browned out areas on the course. Our bermuda growth is on the way, so you'll soon begin to see that nice green coverage that you're looking for. Sounds like you had a good chance to perfect your target practice by successfully aiming for the rough, and hopefully the great deal you snagged, eased your pain a little :)
Kate
Great Course
I love the courses layout, however $45 for a course that every fairway was burnt. $25 I wouldn't have a problem. Dissapointed to say the least.
Hi @fostreet54 - our bermuda grass grown in has been a little slow - but we can assure you once it hits it's stride, you'll see a nice green coverage. PS we hope you picked up your bounce back offer providing for even better rates next time you play. We also have our simple pricing in effect, $40 / $30 / $20 - so be sure to take advantage of our summer tee times, now through August 31st! - Kate
Horrible
Can't believe fairways are gone hit great drive hitting off mud. We all were hoping to but in rough so at least we hit second shot off grass. Can't believe this from a trilogy course. Won't be back anytime soon.
Hi @u000001338764 our bermuda grow-in has been a little slower that expected, but our agronomy team are working hard on all aspects of the course. We hope you'll give us another chance soon so you can match up those great drives with an even better second shot experience - Kate
Course was in horrible condition
I played the course on June 2nd. I was surprised to see how poor the conditions were on the golf course. Temperatures in Phoenix have been moderate, only reaching 100 degrees a few times in the last week or two and yet the course looked as if it were the middle of July and they hadn't watered for a month. While I have, historically, enjoyed the course, this experience puts into question whether I will ever go back.
Hey @nwfisher - our agronomy team are monitoring the bermuda grass grow-in closely. As stewards of the land, we need to be responsible and conscious of our water usage, using just enough to encourage the bermuda grass out of dormancy. It's coming, and with patience, we will ensure a good summer coverage, and a great transition heading into season. We hope you'll come back out and play - we have great summer rates in place as well as $1 beers! - Kate
No Links
Played the course the first month it opened in 2004. It was a beautiful Links style course then but not anymore: they killed all the wild grass that gave the course so much character. The back nine had a much better eye layout and character making it fun to play.
Very disappointing
Trilogy at Vistancia should be shut down. Course conditions are an embarrassment to the game.
Hey @mmathis5742
Like many courses in the Valley, we're working our way through the spring/summer transition period which is why you're seeing some browning areas on the course - we would be happy to chat with you some more about this if you'd like? But briefly, it's a tricky science and we're confident that our bermuda grass will soon create a nice green coverage. In the mean time, although we're admittedly not bright green, the roll of the greens is pretty solid - we're hoping you sunk a few long ones on your visit! Kate
Hey azkrause - it looks like you didn't have a great time? we'd love to learn more about your experience. If you'd like to share, please reach back out to us! Kate
Worst course in AZ
Preen waiting to play this course for awhile. I had a friend to come town and wanted to trip him, I have to say I was completely embarrassed . From
The start the staff at check showed hey could care less, no one to help with carts and once on the course their were 5 broken down golf carts on the course not to include the beverage cart that was abandoned in the middle of the fairway. It was May in AZ and although the weather was hot the course should have been in better condition. All the fairways were completely brown and dry and cracked. We ever saw a beverage cart attendant and it was easier to chip off the cart path than the fairway. In fact I was putting at 80 yards out because the fairway was so dry. Once finished I went to check in with what pro shop but was informed they closed at 5 pm.Once I was finished i spoke to the cart attendant and he just laughed because he said he knows the course is in horrible shape but won't water it. I have golfed at some suspect places but this was by far the worst place I have ever been.I wouldn't ever golf there again even if they payed me. On one final note I have never written a review but this was so bad I thought I would let people know not to waste their money.
Hi JeffLewis3 - we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We hope you'll consider us again some time in the future. Right now, like many courses in the Valley, we're working our way through the spring/summer transition period which is why you're seeing some browning areas on the course. It also seems as though you visited us on a day when our beverage car blew a tire! These things happen, not something we can predict, but we had it towed back to maintenance asap. Kate
Course in rough shape (right now)
I played this course last summer and it was in great shape so I expected more of the same. The fairways were in horrible shape. There were a ton of hot spots and dead patches. Hitting out of the first cut was almost better at times because there was actually some grass to hit off of. Bunkers and greens were in fair shape. Greens still rolled true although they didn't look great. Hoping this was just a transition period for them because I love this course. Cart girl and clubhouse staff were great. Pace of play was awesome.
nice course
Fairways are browned out in spots. and greens are same way . Was expecting a much more plush course after seeing pictures on internet and there website.
Hi @macgolfer79413
Thanks so much for coming out to play. We appreciate you taking the time to write your review.
You mentioned that you came across a few "brown" areas - you're absolutely right - and here's why.
Spring transition is the period where an over seeded desert golf course transitions from winter grass (Ryegrass) to summer grass (Bermuda grass). Our property chooses to fully over seed nearly all turf areas to enjoy beautiful rewards during the cooler months while Ryegrass can thrive in the Arizona desert. With this decision comes other subsequent, related decisions and practices which must take place during the warmer months. This is a time of year where a desert golf course will not be colorful green at all times. It is our intent to continue to focus on excellent playing conditions while minimizing the aesthetic decline and the time frame of which it occurs.
We hope that helps to explain the coloration on course, and sincerely hope you'll be able to come out and play again soon! Kate
Wonderful Round
We almost had the course to play alone mid-day. Recent hot weather has browned off the rye grass in the fairways but tee boxes and greens are still in great shape.
Challenging Course
The front nine was difficult. It was our first time playing and had a hard time figuring out where the greens were. The course really needs to be watered, it was very dry and bare in spots. The greens were really fast. We enjoyed our round and the cost was well worth it.
Another GEM in the Valley !
Vehicular setback caused Me to not be punctual, Ty (GN)spoke to Micheal at course and assured US that I could get worked in.
WOW is how I have to begin this review, virtually "postcard-like."Outstanding(!) practice/warm up facility set-up greets players & the conditions are top shelf !
The Valley had some light rain overnight yet the course was VERY playable, even the firm bunkering sand "thumped" great. Greens are receptive to well struck shots and putt very-very well !
Super(!)GN rate allowed Me experience this course & I can't wait to return ! ! THANKS !
Hey @MarkyVoftheCOP - thanks a million for your awesome review. Come back out and play again soon! Kate

Hey @uEBZD2519EB - you're totally right, Golf Digest did rate us a 5* experience. Now, you have come to us during our annual spring summer transition. This is admittedly a tricky time and, that sleepy bermuda grass just didn't wake up as quickly as we had expected. The good news? The bermuda is now beginning to grow through, and so it won't be long til we see full coverage - Kate
