Raven Golf Club - Phoenix

The course and grounds were beautiful and we were treated by a professional and courteous staff that seemed genuinely interested in making our round memorable. This was our "treat" round during our vacation as I had never paid over $220 for a round of golf. It's hard to judge the value but it was a very enjoyable day.

This is one of my favorites in the Phoenix area. It was as good as it's been in the past. Love the condition and layout. We found a good deal on Golf Now which made it more affordable. I can't afford to play this course at the normal rates.

This was the best public course we played in its price range. Also played TPC Champions and Camelback Padre and Raven was a much better track. Very non desert golf so if you are looking for pure desert golf there are better options. The fairways and rough were perfect, greens rolled true but not super fast. 100% recommend Raven!

Beautiful course with lots of greenery. We’ll manicured. Pace of play was great. Staff very friendly and on top of things. Very nice clubhouse and restaurant.

Awesome course, I would include this in any trip to Scottsdale. Perfect.for day of arrival or

Departure due to proximity to the airport. It’s not a desert course,‘it’s lush and in great shape. The greens are good but get a lot of use. The thing about golfing in Scottsdale is setting expectation. For me The Raven at $200 or so is a no brainer compared to some courses charging $400-500

Golf in Scottsdale is very expensive. What is $200 there might only be $70-$100 where you live.

Occasional showers, but it did not affect the playability

I was staying in Surprise but the drive was worth it. Lots of challenges to the course. Elevated greens and plenty of sand. Sand was decent to play out of unlike other local courses where traps were hard. I'd play here again for sure!

What a great golf course! Beautiful setting lots of green grass. Very organized pace of play was never A problem every hole was wide open. Nice to have range balls included. Can't say enough nice things about this course, staff was very helpful cart person was available often. Grouped with very friendly people.

It's not desert golf. If you miss the fairway you're in actual watered green rough, not the dry un-watered desert rough everywhere else. Pine trees line the fairways on every hole. Bunkers have nice smooth white sand in them. Greens are smooth, cut short, roll well, with good speed. Only complaint I would have is that the tee box and driving range grass should have been shorter. But the condition was still outstanding, easily one of the top 10 courses in the area..

Carts have GPS. There's a grass range before the round that they give you ~30 balls to. Water given to you on the first tee. Great clubhouse/restaurant with a view of the course. Beverage cart told us that food was available at the turn, but there was no QR code for the menu, nor was there a way to order on the cart GPS.

Layout was uninspiring, just a bunch of dead straight par 4's. No doglegs, no water hazards around greens (except for 18), no elevated tee boxes. The course is long - senior tees are 5760 yards. Tips well over 7000. Wasn't challenging as long as you have distance with your driver and can stay out of trees. Par 5's were 596 and 593 yards. Only a few greens with a tight landing area, most were easy to hit.

There's mountain views on the holes facing south. The course has homes on it but for the most part they are tucked away behind trees and never come into play. 9 min tee time intervals are frustrating enough to keep you waiting a few minutes each tee box.

Course was in very good condition the greens were outstanding pacer play was excellent. A little pricey but that’s the way it is nowadays. Definitely go back

I’m not someone to usually take the time to review golf courses, but I just felt the need to express how impressed I was with the Raven. The conditions were great (lush, great greens), and we played in 4 hrs, which surprised me given the frost delay. This is up there as a favorite of mine in the valley. I will definitely be back!

If you know where this course is, it’s kind of odd that such a nice club is in the area. Not a bad area, just not somewhere you’d expect to spend $200 on golf. But it’s cool when you drive back into the parking area and sort of get whisked into this private little enclave.

That aside, one of the better courses I’ve played in a long time. Phoenix isn’t short on great courses, but I’d say a lot of what I’ve played lately has been pretty shabby. This course keeps it tight. The greens are nice, even and roll great, the fairways are beautiful (if you’re lucky enough to spend time there 😉), and even the rough was very nicely “kept”.

Pace of play was good even though we were a 2some stuck behind a few 4somes. It really felt like a private club experience so I think it was worth the price.

Would definitely play again.
