The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Great layout
This course is a really nice place to play golf.
The only problem is quite a few greens are in the process of growing new grass. There were bumpy spots on some greens that were filled with the fertilized seeds that shout start to grow and solve this issue.
When the greens are healthier this will be a much better place to play. Hopefully that is soon.

I aged significantly
Pace of play? More like no pace of play. I am usually easy going and don't dwell on things I can't control. Today got me! I have played some slow rounds but today put me in a way I did not like. I left without finishing the round .On the 22 mile drive back to my home I kept asking God to forgive me for the thoughts I was thinking and the anger I was feeling.
Asking that those checking on the pace of play actually do what they can to speed up play and be nice about it.

The back 9 was in good shape
I like the design. Front 9 greens were not in good condition. Had fun playing the course, but like so many other courses in Phoenix this March, the overall conditions of these courses is poor. I would play this again because I had fun and got a discount because of my Tee-Off membership.

Beat up
The course was not in great condition. The fairways were dry and bumpy. The greens had a lot of dead spots. You had to putt over dirt. Course was not in a condition conducive to the price they charge.

On the bright side…..I got a chance to practice hitting from rocks, dry dirt and put like in a parking lot!

Where are the greens
The greens were terrible with all the rain this spring they should be plush
I don’t see these greens coming around anytime soon so I will not be golfing there again

Do not recommend
This course was in terrible condition. Worse than my home course in Canada on opening day after all the snow melts. Would not play again.
It's not close to the worst. Ahwatukee Lakes is much worst. It appears that they are trying to improve the course. This is compared from when I played in Jan. I played in march and they replaced mats on the driving range and replaced the balls. One step at a time.

Dollars Wasted
Dry as a rock. Greens as much sand as grass. Dead trees and tree litter (sticks and downed tree limbs) everywhere. Not worth the bother. Arrived early but starter held us until four players arrived although there was no one else going off the tee box for at least 30 minutes. Through the entire round we saw no one behind us or in front of us for multiple holes.

This course was in absolutely horrendous condition.
Worst I’ve played in a long time. Place might be worth a $10-$15 fee but no more than that.
Save your money and just hit range balls. That’s it that’s all.

Nice Course but greens were hurt.
the course was nice I enjoyed it but putting was definitely not fun for the day. the greens were on the verge of being lost. I did have fun because the course was very playable, with some challenging holes. great location and easy to find. the only reason I chose to not recommend to a friend is because of the greens. Putting is the most important part of the game. absolutely no fun to hit a great shot and can't make a decent putt for birdie.

Awful greens
This course was not worth the $90 they charged per round. The greens were painted and you could see grass seed on the greens. I have never played on worse greens. The course needs lots of renovation
