The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

The only thing that saved the day was how perfect the weather was
Pace of play was extremely slow, took 3 hrs to finish the front 9 and only got in 13 holes before it got dark. In addition, the greens were horrible, some of the worst putting conditions I have ever seen. The grass was far too tall and the surface was very bumpy, and the putting was super slow. Fairways were okay after overseeding but if you hit off of the fairway you were frequently in hard packed dirt.

Not a bad course.
My biggest complaint was the 6-some playing in front of us. It took 3+ hours to play 9 holes and we couldn’t make the turn as it got dark. Pace of play AWFUF. The course not bad at all. Greens were in good condition as were the fairways. Again, 1/2 review because a didn’t see the back 9.

Greens
The fairways were in great shape where there was grass. I would say there were good shots hit that ended up in hard dirt areas. The greens were sanded and seeded so they were in rough shape, Long, shaggy and slow. Had I known this when I made my reservation I may have played elsewhere. Based on the condition of the greens now worth the price paid for this course. I have played here before and would go again.

Goat track, pay a little more and golf elsewhere.
This early in the season after a reseed, the place is terribly unkept. The rough was trashy and had piles of cut down trees that have been there for a long time. The irrigation system leaks everywhere creating standing water and mud slogs. This place can do better.

Don't play until December
The course has been opened way too early. Greens were brutally shaggy or no growth

Basic golf
Course scalped for overseeding, but greens were ok. Bunkers are nothing less than horrible. If you practice shots off the cart path you’ll enjoy these bunkers

3+hours to play 9-holes
Ridiculous!!! Course conditions were a D- at best. Pace of play was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Nearly every hole we had to wait for TWO GROUPS in front of us to tee off. Inexperienced groups of FIVE and SIX in front of us. Quit after hole 11 only because the temps were good. Would have quit by hole 5 had it been hotter.
