The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Fun course!
Course layout was great and the course was in great shape for the time of year! Unfortunately, we got behind a couple of slow group’s, so we waited after every shot. Still, first time there so we didn’t have an expectation. Thanks

FABULOUS DAY ON THE COURSE
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST & MOST FRIENDLY STAFF we have seen in a long time. From the time we pulled up & dropped our. Luba at the bag drop until they were put back in the car. The Staff is young but VERY PROFESSIONAL! I seldom will give 5/star ratings but this time they ALL deserve it. Course was in very good condition as well & especially now just beg Over-seeding. Thanks to EVERYONE that made this trip from Tucson to Phoenix well worth the time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE!!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND - Course conditions have declined and are inconsistent.
Overall the course conditions have dropped so much that even though I have a 2022 Gold card I have only played the course 3 times this summer. Normally I would have at least 12-15 round there. I am very disappointed because even when the course is in "moderate - to -average" shape I enjoy playing there. I found myself driving further to play rounds of golf and actually purchasing the "Phoenix golf card" - The Duke golf course is the only reason to purchase the GOLD card. Sorry to say that I would not recommend playing here.

Greens were good, but the condition of the overall fairway and cart paths were were poorly maintained. Cart paths were all torn up and dangerous. The fairways were multicolored with different colored grasses making it difficult to find your ball. The roughs were poorly kept as were the traps.

Needs work
This is a local course, so I try and support it. Every time I play it, I'm not impressed with it. This last time I played, there were grass clippins all over the course, around the greens, in the rough, etc. The bunkers are a joke because there isn't any sand in them. The little sand they have is hard packed and a ton of rocks that just ruin your clubs.
The fairways are patchy and it's not really well taken care of.
The pace of play is always SLOW. I get not having a lot of employees when it's hot, but there weren't a lot of golfers out there, send someone out to keep the pace going. No matter how fast someone can play, every group could play faster and keep up with the group in front. They have to learn how to do this. Please send someone out to enforce this.
This course could be so much better. Spending a little more time fixing areas to make the course play better and speeding up play, a lot of people would come here more often.
Would not recommend this course. I repurchased the annual GOLD card because I use to play this course when rates go up in the winter time. But the course conditions are so bad and inconsistent I will probable not renew my card for 2023
Potential
I believe they are trying to restore this course. The lay-out is good, homes are older and fairways are not in good condition. The greens and tee boxes are nice. I wish it were better because I live in the community and I am Two minutes away!!

Better than last week - a lot better!
I played last week and conditions improved immensely this week! Such a fun track. Cart person, pro shop staff and especially the groundskeepers were so friendly and helpful. And what a value for your money. This course is going on my regular rotation! Keep up the good work on the fairways and greens. Just work on getting the grass clippings cleared. A solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Not like the other reviews
Good course. Definitely areas of improvement are needed (patchy greens, grass clippings left in rough, sparse unwanted grasses in fairways), but a solid, course for the rate and time of year. We were first group out and finished just over 3 hours (3:03). Just wish the beverage cart had Coke Zero!

Terrible shape
This course hasn’t been taken care of . Understand the airation. Hadn’t been mowed in if ever . The weeds and grass could be bailed . The weed which looks like a noxious weed swallows the ball . No matter how cheap it’s not worth it .,

Grass needs mowing
If you’re always in the fairways or in the greens you’re good to go. But if you are in the ruff or just miss the green there is a very good chance you will not find your ball.
They aren’t keeping up with the rain.

Great par 72 to get your game right
This course is always fun to play. Not an incredibly difficult round but definitely challenging at times. The greens were a little rough today because of aeration, but otherwise another great round here!

Country Club Conditions
My assessment was that the club house, tennis courts, and pro shop were in very good country club condition, but the grass/weeds was not up to what I wanted.

Horrendous course conditions
If the choice is between playing her or not playing, choose the latter. Horrific greens, unkempt rough and outer green edges. No dirt on greens, so aeration holes completely affected ball rolling. Yikes

Poorly maintained course
The greens have been bad for quite sometime now. They are still not as smooth as they should be. The sand traps are as hard as stone with little or no maintenance at all. The fairways do not have grass consistently and you are playing in the dirt most of the time.

Not worth it
I have never done a review since I’ve been on Golf Now 14 years this has to be the worst country club I’ve ever played total trash starter was nice very helpful as I came around it towards the 10th tee he informed me that the back nine was closed I had to play the front again would’ve never played this course everything was punched which was not on Golf Now so I lost out on that not worth it to play this course

This course should not be open. 9 holes opened only, all overseeded with serious maintenance weakneses. Crabgrass everywhere, certainly the worse course I played in the last 20 years.
