The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Stay away - Head pro
After my son and I got strep throat within the 24 hour cancellation notice I called the course and told them we wouldn’t make it and requested to cancel. The female agent said it would be up to the golf pro to decide.
I guess he decided $$$ was more important than our health and the health of his workers.
I’ll never go back. After 25 years golfing in the valley this is only the 2nd time I’ve blacklisted a golf course.
Play somewhere else
The first 9 took 3 hour and 10 minutes so we walked off the course. The greens are in absolute dreadful condition- highly recommend not playing this course.

Terrible conditions
I last played here 2 years ago. Course was in good condition at that time. It’s amazingly sad how terrible the conditions have become in 2 years! Greens were absolutely awful. Several bare spots, and extremely “crusty” and rough. We paid $65 each. It wasn’t worth $15.
I’ll never go back.

Poor condition. Rude Course Ranger
Course was in tough shape. Might have been due to dormant summer grass. Definitely some beat up areas that were mud and dirt.
The pace of play was awful. By the 4th hole there were four groups waiting and one extremely slow foursome trying to play. The ranger was no where to be seen.
Finally by the 10th hole the ranger showed up. For our patience, after waiting 10 holes to see a ranger, he told us that we needed to keep up. That we were running behind.
We were a twosome playing in between groups of four. One of us is a scratch golfer. We were not holding up anyone. We were behind because of a foursome several groups ahead of us.
The ranger continued to give us a hard time for the rest of the round as though we were holding up the course. The ranger needs to man up and move the slower groups along instead of wasting his time blaming a twosome for backing up the course.
Last time I ever play here.

Potential
This course lay- out is good and it has so much potential. Only limited green space. Lots of dirt for fairway region.

Money grab
Great location and past experiences but no more. Large group on first tee so decided to compare confirmation messages with other golfers, five groups were scheduled with 4 minute gaps when rates dropped(1pm on) Greens were full of metal golf spike marks, softball clear marks and baseball cleats marks. Fairways were narrow and nice, rest was dirt overgrown with weeds and tree debris. The twosome in front of us were teeing off from every tee box and playing them all, eight balls per hole. Ranger just smiled, shrugged and said “it’s Saturday, get used to it”. 3:10 to play front nine. Past many golfers at turn who were quitting their rounds. Pushed group in front of us who had a conference on each players shot. Cart girl seemed nice, if she only stopped. Saw her several times but never stopped for any groups, in front or behind us. Never saw on back nine but it was late afternoon by then. Disappointing day.

It is what it is
Look. Don’t pay full price for this place. I paid $35 for a 630am tee time and for that it’s totally worth it. The fairway is in good condition. Anything outside of it is dirt. They’re working on the greens but the pin locations were in good areas. You can’t come here expecting it to be private club level because it’s not. But $35 for 18 holes in the winter/spring in AZ is the best around for a non executive course. Heck, there are even executive courses out there going for $100+ A round.

Good Value
The course was in good shape, and it was a good value for the money. Pace of play was a little slow. Had fun.

Not worthy the money
My friend wanted to play here and I thought it would be a good course due to location and cost. But was disappointed. The course is not maintained well. No grass in some areas, sand bunkers are like cement, greens are not green at all with some patches of dirt. There is an effort to repair the greens, and the patches used make putting next to impossible. I will not go back to this course.

Needs TLC
Overall course conditions were poor as very dried out. Whoever sets the pins doesn't know what they are doing. 6-7 were in corners of greens directly overtop of bunkers.

Terrible course
The course was in terrible shape. The greens were barely playable.
We had to wait on every hole. It took us almost 5 hours to play the round.
The course is way over priced for the course condition!!

For the price...worth it
Course is not in the best of shape but for $45 in winter in AZ you are not gonna get much better.
Pace of play: They could have done a better job of staggering the groups at the start but things ended up speeding up by the back 9.
Course conditions: You are gonna want to stay on the fairways cause the rough isn't rough, just dirt. That being said the fairways are in good shape. Some of the greens were in bad shape but they made sure the pin was somewhere playable.
Not my fav course but for the money this time of year this really isn't a bad spot to get 18 in.

This is not a women friendly course. We were constantly talked to by ranger that we were slow even though we were at pace with people ahead. They left after 10 and ranger stopped to say "13 is wide open". Thre people behind us were not really waiting and then he asked us to play different t's to "speed up play". We had 1 gentlemen with us.

Disappointment for $90
Save yourself the money, several of the greens were under repair, or so patchy and dead that they were unplayable. The rough was non existent and pretty much dirt

Not worth the $$
1st time playing this course, pace of play was great because we tee’d off at 7AM and no one was around us. Overall the course needs a lot of work, multiple greens have large patches of ground under repair and tee boxes are pretty beat up. Definitely not worth $95.
