The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

As bad as it gets
Tee times are 7 minutes then 8 minutes alternating, teed off 30 minutes after out tee time, with still no carts available, played front nine in 3 hours. Worst experience I have had playing golf in Arizona,

Do not play here
It took over 3 hours to play 9 holes… 25 minutes behind schedule for no apparent reason and the pace of play was unbelievably slow. No Marshalls to be found anywhere and no management on the premises during a busy afternoon. Course conditions are awful, this place ain’t worth more than $10… do yourself a favor and play somewhere else.

Worth $20 st best
Course in very bad shape. Dirt patches and sod replacement on greens. Tee boxes barren. No rough to speak of. And that was the best part. Rangers and cart boys rude and arrogant. Not worth even $20. Do not even consider!!

Course conditions were nit good for the price paid. Greens were in bad shape.

Not So Good Experience
We arrived about 20-25 minutes before our 1:52 pm tee time. 4-5 groups waiting to tee off with no carts available. By 2:15 pm, only 2 guys had teed off so we asked to cancel and get our money back. We wouldn’t have come close to finishing by dark. Clubhouse staff was apologetic but this should never happen. Green/cart fee was $105 and this is not a $105 course.

Terrible condition
The course was in terrible shape. Price was high. Staff unfriendly. Will never go back or recommend.

Don’t believe the pictures on their website
The pictures on this course’s website make the fairways and greens look beautifully manicured - they aren’t! This course is in very rough condition. The fairways are dry and hard and the rough, in many places, isn’t brown grass it’s brown dirt. The greens are in poor condition and some have been patched with large squares of fairway length sod.
I wouldn’t recommend this course if it were $50, let alone $100!

A Crime
We paid $125 for a course that is not worth $30 anywhere else. Poorly kept greens, dried out rough and nearly nonexistent, non level tees. The only redeeming quality was the people we were paired with. A tourist trap. Terrible.

Pace of play
Everything is rough. Dry greens . But ok. We played at 9:52 . So stacked up . People in front of us . 15 minutes a hole . There was a guy on a par 3 selling tickets for $20.00 to make a joke in one .,slowed things up further .just not good over all .

Debris on greens
That was the only shortcoming of the course was the sticks, leaves, and pine needles on the course. If they cleanup the greens it would be a great course.

Practice green completely destroyed. Range was way below average. Course is in really bad shape. Save your money and play elsewhere.

Our 1st time playing it & also the last time. All 4 of us made that comment during our round.
They've let the course go too far south.
Probably going to take a million or two to get it get back into respectable shape. I don't like writing a bad review like this, but I call things like I see them.
Easily the worst course I've played in Arizona.
The further you get into it, the worse it gets. Actual 3' to 8" chunks of greens under repair & not even going to blend in. Obviously, course is in dire need of an experienced landscape manager. Alot of bare dirt spots throughout the course, some sand traps have small rocks others were really nice shape. Sad, Sad shape for supposedly a country club. I drove up from Tucson. Best part was visiting with my 3 buddies who live in Phoenix area. Someone PLEASE bring this course back to respectable.
