Has potential!
With time and care this could become a nice executive course. For right now, it’s a little rough.
average course
when we pulled up to course I didn't think it would be good. Got to the first tee and saw 4 guys. waited to tee off. We waited on every shot. No one was in front of them and they would not let us go thru. Other than that not too bad. will not play it again.

The popularity is picking up quickly so plans for beverage carts and or club house should be in the works to ensure future loyalty for the longevity of the course. Also no bathroom facilities, anything would help. I know things take time but the future looks great but the details will help secure the success of the future
Course still undergoing repairs
Length of course fits my game and stamina for walking. Greens, fairways on most holes good but the rough is mainly raw dirt. Still a ways to go for this course.
this course is going to be great
I don't know the whole story, but this course once existed and then languished, It's in the process of being reborn. Currently operating on a shoestring budget, the money seems to be going into the course.
You're going to want the be in the fairways because the waste areas are brutal. There several lakes that aren't lakes. They're dry. But try to envision how difficult this track will be when the ponds are flooded, It's heavily bunkers and the are tricky.
There isn't a clubhouse or restaurant. No snack bar or bar, There aren't even trash cans on the course. But try to enjoy this upstart and believe that you're built something
Not what I expected
The Lakes at Ahwatukee should be the Lake beds of Ahwatukee, one lake and a bunch of holes. No clubhouse, no restaurant that is on the website.
Disappointed
First time playing a course in Arizona and this course wasn't up to par. No water, no clubhouse, no real amenities.
No frills just golf
No clubhouse, no cart person, no vending of any kind, no alcohol license, no marshall. Course conditions were good and greens slow but good. Very slow play. For afternoon you can’t beat pride just make sure you bring anything you want to drink. Nothing available sat course. Will play again.
Super great greens
Overall very good conditions for a course that is being brought back to life ... 6 par 4's (longest is 400 years) and 12 par 3's varying from 96 to 203 yards so you will use every club ... outstanding bunkers with fun course design.
Coming back to life
This course was closed in 2013, and opened again a couple of months ago in 2022. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good shape, but the rest of the course looks like the moon. The owner was forced via a lawsuit to reopen the course, but he has only done the bare minimum to revive it. No bathrooms (only full porta potties), no water stations (important when in the desert). It’s a great course layout to work on your short game, but be prepared for a lot of wreckage of missing trees and dry lakes along the way.
