Foothills Golf Club

It's been awhile since I played this course and never as a Troon property. I have always loved the layout and it's in my backyard but the course conditions have always been disappointing. Greens and Fairways are great after Troon took ownership. Pace of play was very good and the course marshals were very visible. The aesthetics on the back 9 (walls with chipped paint and sloppy desert areas) could still use some work. Overall though my round was great! .

We played Foothills on December 24th, 2023 at 8:30AM. We came in reluctant as we'd heard mixed reviews on this course. Friendly and helpful cart barn staff greeted us upon arrival at the course and upon the conclusion of our round. Starter and cart girl were great to deal with as well. Fairways and greens were in very nice shape, though very wet from the dew and rainfall a few days prior. Rough was patchy in certain spots, but still very much acceptable. The morning pace of play was great as we were able to finish in under 4 hours. We enjoyed the course and would play here again when we're in town.

Course conditions are improving. Pace of play good for a Sunday. Hamburgers at the turn are well done. Checkin staff were friendly to begin but seemed less so on learning we booked with Teeoff.com. Understand big improvements coming next year. Hopefully, the price will remain competitive.

Customer service has really fallen since Troon took over. No direction for how to get range balls and accusing people of hitting off grass when divots have obviously been there prior. No greeting from staff at pick up.

I haven't played this course in years beause it had gotten really bad. Over the years they have done a great job to rebuild the greens and fairways. The course played well except the bunkers. The bunkers need some work but other than that the course played well.

No need for round to take that long it was painful
