Foothills Golf Club

Met a friend from Surprise to shoot Foothills on a Saturday, noon tee-time. Starter & Marshall gave suggestion as to tee-box (blue) and tip on where the greens break...which helped.

The course layout and setting is great, the greens were a good speed & consistent, approach shots held nicely and in general the greens are in real good shape. Same for the fairways,...which they could consider maybe a more defining cut along the fairway edges even though the rough is not overly wide while the fairways are quite generous.

Its an eye-pleasing course that provide a good challenge, while some conditions could use some improvement.

The blue tee boxes appear to be the most used while also having humps/slopes across the tee-area. These boxes could use leveling & a cut lower, and re-position daily.

Most sand traps were raked but hadn't been worked so only a skiff of sand then clay,...causing the club to bounce/skip through the ball and not allow decent sand-trap play..

Some humps/hills along the fairways and around the greens were bald or bare.....from a visual perspective, it takes away from what are many appealing looks to the green or from the tee-box.

In general, is a good course though compared to the Sun City courses and others, $90 for 1224 tee-time seems about $20-25 more than comparable courses.

But I'd still golf Foothills again because of the layout and setting and usual good condition of the fairways and greens.

I came from Gold Canyon to play FHGC on Black Friday so expected some slow play whi ch we had. Course still growing in but I can see the potential in about 30 days. Staff across the board was great. I would play it again.

Very nice play south of Phoenix in Ahwatukee. Course has great views of South mountains. It was in nice shape considering the rain overnight. Staff could not have been nicer. Course was fun and fair. Highly recommend

In general, course is in fair shape. Tee boxes most-definitely need attention (leveling and more grass). Fairways could benefit from a mowing. Sand traps (which there are many) need more sand to achieve playing a more reasonable shot, particularly with over-hanging lips. Greens could use some rolling to improve speed. Pace of play was slow when we played (4.5+ hours), with waiting on almost all tee shots (and then some). Value for round was fair. With attention to the above points, this course could be justified as a Troon-managed course. BTW: most Troon courses include some or all range balls before a round; not Foothills GC.

Course was in excellent shape. Great greens. Pace of play was good. Great value for a little drive south of Phoenix

We played Foothills for the first time and was pleased to see the course is improving since being taken over by Troon. The staff are fantastic. We were greeted by a manager who welcomed us and thanked us for playing as well shared the improvements being made. The course is in very good condition and will improve as time goes by. Greens rolled very well. Fees are reasonable We will definitely be back soon.

Can see a lot of improvements for staff, aesthetics, green fairways, maintenance staff and outside service is excellent. Needs work on back nine fringe length off greens, fairways could roll better. Beverage cart service outstanding and frequent. Disappointed to see beverage shack and outside BBQ (burgers, dogs) closed before 4PM. Inside restaurant service impeccable.

Had a great time. Staff was very friendly, and the course was challenging. I will definitely play here again.

Course was just off overseed but played quite well. Was the second time playing there and will definitely be back!

This great track is delightful for me. I have played over six times here, and I am never disappointed.

Probably NOT the tee time retailers responsibility but on the TEEOFF website, there was no disclaimer of it being ‘cart path only’.That should be mandatory !

Pace of play was no fault of the course manager - our foursome had a beginner.

We love this course with views of south mountain. Well maintained and worth the price for sure
