Camelback Golf Club features two courses, Padre and Ambiente (formerly known as Indian Bend Course). The Ambiente Course underwent a major renovation in 2013. Making the course more eco friendly was one of the major goals of the renovation in addition to improving the layout's playability for a wider range of skill levels. The creatively shaped greens offer a variety of different putting options that present interesting risk-reward opportunities. The renovation added 100 acres of native desert and grass areas that add not only beauty but also require a third less water. Rolling terrain is the defining characteristic of the Ambiente Course, from the undulating fairways to dramatic drops in elevation. There are five sets of tees with forward tees that have easier approach angles and no forced carried, allowing even beginners to approach the golf course with confidence.

Great time!

This was my first time playing at Camelback. They aerated ambiente approximately 6wks ago . Tee to green are true. Lush fairways, soft sand traps. Greens were pretty fast and in great condition for this time of year. Staff is genuinely friendly from outdoor services, ranger, pro shop, and beverage lady. You could easily make this your daily course. Other clubs should take note of their hospitality!

Great track!

I highly recommend going to play the Ambiente course at Camelback. The greens are in amazing shape right now! Some of the best in the valley in my opinion. The location is perfect as its right in the middle of Scottsdale. The clubhouse and amenities on site are great as well! Must play when in the area!

Great course

Truest rolling greens I’ve found all summer, along with Legacy. Great course every time I play. Will keep coming back.

Bare mud tee boxes

Fine layout, great pace of play (first thing in the morning) but the course conditions hint at a course that is not being maintained well. Greens were the best part of the course. However, tee boxes that were only bare dirt and washed out bunkers full of rocks and debris tell me that this place doesn't have much of a future.

Nicest course in Scottsdale

The wife and I recently moved to the Mesa are and have been playing a couple of courses a week.

Camelback was by far the best so far. Everything met our expectations and it was a great value for the price.

Thank you!

Great Course

Great golf course - beautiful condition, great staff. Course layout is a little ‘all over the place’ - but you get a lot of that in Scottsdale. Only complaint was water on the course, one of the fountains wasn’t working and game out hot water.

Great experience as always

Pace good, most parts of the course were great condition for early summer heat, greens recovered well from aeration and rolled well.

Camelback Golf -Gorgeous place to spend the afternoon

Greens had been punched a few weeks ago still a little slow but rolled true and feel they were in really good condition. The course had some extremely dry tee boxes and patches on fairways, they were watering some during play not at all a problem. I love Camelback golf courses overall, can’t beat the peace and tranquillity of the courses. Bunkers had lots of rocks in them and hard dirt - the worst part of the course. Beautiful area by far the most relaxing round this summer, tee off at 11:50, was paired with another 2 but they let us split up due to not allot of people on course. Round took 3 hours. Staff was friendly and they all thanked us for coming out every time they saw us ! Restaurant closed on Monday and Tuesday for summer so asked for a recommendation for a drink and a bit to eat with a patio, one of the attendants recommend ‘ Ohso’ Fabulous outdoor patio with really good food !. We will be back soon to play Padre the other course.

Great course , friendly staff

Had a great time playing Ambiente. Tough course with lots of bunkers that I found myself in far too often. The staff was awesome, and you can tell they try and keep the pace of play moving.

Still Playable at 115F

I have reviewed this course before. This is a links-style course that especially plays as a links course in the summer. The course was coming off two weeks rest from aeration. Nevertheless, it was still in very playable shape though the grass was cropped very short and aeration zones were plentiful. Because the ball runout is increased on links courses, you may consider clubbing down here to allow for the runout on and around the greens.

Good Track

Course was in good condition. Fairways were a little wet and thin; should be great in another week or so. Greens were firm and still recovering from sanding, but were fast and ran true. Tee boxes could use a little TLC, as could the sand/rocky traps. Pace of play was fabulous (no one else on the course at 111*), as was value for money. Staff was very friendly.

Challenging course.

Just started consistently golfing in the beginning of March this year. My advice if you are new to the game and play this course, Just play your own game, tee off from where you should per your handicap and course can be enjoyed at all levels. Only mistake I made was playing one up with everyone else when I should have played further up to enjoy round more.
