McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Don't waste $150 on this course this time of year

I like both the Palms and the Pines courses, but neither was in decent shape for the money. Very disappointing. I realize it's prime season, but it's not worth $150 per person. It's a $75 course at best. Lots of washed out dirt areas on and around the fairways, the greens weren't receptive to high lofted shots, the bunkers were rock hard dirt and the pace of play was slow. I generally don't like putting negative reviews online, but someone needs to take this feedback and make some reasonable improvements if they're going to charge a premium rate. Be aware and take care. Thanks!!

something's fishy w this place

Many people I spoke with who were playing here, complained about the exorbitant green fees for a course that is in embarrassing condition. The bathrooms, the cart paths, some of the greens, the overall neglect, the bunkers (atrocious). The lack of concern from the management is also reflected in the atrocious behavior of the patrons, two of whom I saw drive their cart into a bunker. Not that it mattered because the bunkers are like concrete so who cares? Nobody apparently.

Take a pass

It's 3 stars for a reason. It started with the range. This was poorly maintained. Lots of chewed up spots and very little actual grass.

We played the back nine of both courses. These are in horrible shape. Standing water in many traps and on the course. Many fairways were very bad shape and the greens were as well. Maybe shutter this for a year to get it in playing condition.

We booked and paid via GolfNow to play the Pines course.

However, upon arrival we were told we were starting on the back 9 of the Palms course, then we were to play the back 9 of the Pines course. At the turn we were asked to play the front 9 of the Pines course. $101 to play only half the course we booked a tee-time for.

OVERPRICED and SLOW PLAY

$100+ to wait on every shot. The course claims a 4-hour round, but they don't manage slow play.

Wet course

We had an early morning T Time and the course was very wet from irrigation. They are apparently working on the course and we were told to play The 2 back 9’s (Palm and Pine). The sand traps were hard and had lots of standing water as did several fairways.

Beat up

We played the back nine - Palm and then Pine.

Fortunately, the Pine was fairly enjoyable and playable.

However, the Pine was horrible. Every aspect- tee box, fairway, cart paths and greens were in terrible shape.

The staff was tremendous and listened to our feedback.

McCormick Ranch Golf

Not impressed with the conditions of the course for what they charge. We had a very slow 4 some holding us up most of the round.

The cart paths were rough, very little grass to speak of if you are off the fairway. Traps were mostly hard pan with little sand to play a soft bunker shot. I have played 8 different courses over the past few weeks and this was not in good shape compared to some of the others.

Old and worn

Here is the good:

All but 2 greens were great

Tee boxes in good shape

Fairways were fair.

Starter was a great person.

3 people I was paired with -excellent.

Now for the Ugly:

Bunker sand was non-existent. 1 to of 10

2 greens were not puttable. 0 out of 10

Cart girl made us walk to her- she was horrible. 0 out of 10.

Cart paths need significant repair. 4 out of 10.

They need to put some serious dollars into the bunkers and repairing the cart paths.

Scottsdale Caddy Girls Partner

First intro to Scottsdale Caddy Girls. Not sharing picture as don't want to get anyone in trouble.

Played many times.

Understand course is under renovation and in a floodplain. Played unrenovated side.

GolfNow reservation cancelation policy sucked when I made a mistake.

Mccormick Palm

I played the Palm course for the first time and was very disappointed in the condition of the course and fairways. The Mccormick was redoing several 9 hole areas. I paid 150.00 each for the round for 3 people. I feel because the condition of the course doesnt match the price I paid that i actually want my money back or 50 percent off each rate. The course condition was only worth $75.00 each. The next day i played a course in Sun City for half the price and the faiways were pristine.
