McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Wet course

We had an early morning T Time and the course was very wet from irrigation. They are apparently working on the course and we were told to play The 2 back 9’s (Palm and Pine). The sand traps were hard and had lots of standing water as did several fairways.

Beat up

We played the back nine - Palm and then Pine.

Fortunately, the Pine was fairly enjoyable and playable.

However, the Pine was horrible. Every aspect- tee box, fairway, cart paths and greens were in terrible shape.

The staff was tremendous and listened to our feedback.

McCormick Ranch Golf

Not impressed with the conditions of the course for what they charge. We had a very slow 4 some holding us up most of the round.

The cart paths were rough, very little grass to speak of if you are off the fairway. Traps were mostly hard pan with little sand to play a soft bunker shot. I have played 8 different courses over the past few weeks and this was not in good shape compared to some of the others.

Old and worn

Here is the good:

All but 2 greens were great

Tee boxes in good shape

Fairways were fair.

Starter was a great person.

3 people I was paired with -excellent.

Now for the Ugly:

Bunker sand was non-existent. 1 to of 10

2 greens were not puttable. 0 out of 10

Cart girl made us walk to her- she was horrible. 0 out of 10.

Cart paths need significant repair. 4 out of 10.

They need to put some serious dollars into the bunkers and repairing the cart paths.

Scottsdale Caddy Girls Partner

First intro to Scottsdale Caddy Girls. Not sharing picture as don't want to get anyone in trouble.

Played many times.

Understand course is under renovation and in a floodplain. Played unrenovated side.

GolfNow reservation cancelation policy sucked when I made a mistake.

Mccormick Palm

I played the Palm course for the first time and was very disappointed in the condition of the course and fairways. The Mccormick was redoing several 9 hole areas. I paid 150.00 each for the round for 3 people. I feel because the condition of the course doesnt match the price I paid that i actually want my money back or 50 percent off each rate. The course condition was only worth $75.00 each. The next day i played a course in Sun City for half the price and the faiways were pristine.

First timer

I’m a 5 handicap and play a lot of golf so my expectations were high for the green fee paid. Course was a little rough around the edges, fairways were in ok shape, greens were hard and fast. The worst part was the bunkers, really unplayable as a hazard (mostly hard packed, dried mud) with a thin layer of sand. Pace of play was fine so overall not the best experience for the $. Foothills GC was better golfing experience.

The course was wet

The course has too much water standing around that made it difficult to find a good spot to take relief. The cart paths are in very poor condition. Time for the course to get updated. This course is nothing like it was 10 years ago. Might not come back for awhile.

Fun Track

Pretty challenging course with more water than most others we played. Think they're in the middle of an improvement project and excited to come back and check it out once they're done. Hole 15 is tricky.

Goid bones but lousy condition

Very expensive for a course in bad shape

Bunkers bad with puddles in them

Cart paths terrible

Many grassless dirt areas to hit off of

We paid $320 for the two of us

Not a fair price

Also a 5 hour round which is terrible!
