McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Save your money

This course fairways were40% dirt and the traps were like hitting your ball off cement. Greens were decent and the staff were very nice. For the $125 fee it was definitely not worth it. The McCormick ranch is relying on their past reputation. The course really needs a ton of work but they say they are booking 400 rounds per day so why bother? We are avid golfers and new to the area. We won’t be back and you should save your money.

Unfortunately I made these comments about McDowell Mt by mistake that course is great and puts McCormick ranch golf to shame.

Disappointed

Pace of play was very poor: 4 1/2 hours.

Back side of Palm was aerated and fairways were terrible, muddy and rough. No mention of aerating when tee time was booked.

Greens extremely hard and ball just bounced off the back side. Need to put some of that fariway water on the greens.

Weather was great but unfortunately course was not!

Great day at McCormack Ranch

Perfect day. For 18 at McCormack Ranch. Staff friendly (especially starter Kelly) practice balls included Very enjoyable. (Last 6 holes were slow due to group of 4 young players in front of us that were doing a lot of goofing around) would definitely go back again!!

Outside Services

The guys on outside services were organized, efficient and so friendly. Quick to your car upon arrival and came back to load the car at the bag drive. As good as any private course!! They even ran after a departing guest with their range finder. Very impressive. Also the starter was very friendly.

A Very Nice Course and Affordable!

We are out here for a month and finding decent courses that are affordable this time of year can be challenging. I have played several in the area and my “go to” courses are the Pine and Palm. While I probably enjoy the Palm a little bit better, and I think it is in slightly better condition, the Pine is the more challenging and both are great for the cost! The staff has never treated me with anything other than great respect, and they are very Covid conscious. You are not charged extra for taking a cart as a single, pace of play is fine, and the greens are in very nice shape. Some of the bunkers could use some sand in them, and the rough is a little hard and bare in some areas, but some of that may be the time of year. I have been a member of a private club in Illinois for several years, and have been very pleased with the value for the money and the overall experience at McCormick Ranch. I will be back!!

Poor staff

My group was harassed by a ranger that claimed we were a hole behind. I pointed out that there was a group on the next tee and he argued with me that I was wrong. When my group reached the next tee, we had to wait for the group ahead of us.

I informed the clubhouse staff of what had happened and they didn't seem to care. I guess because they are in Scottsdale, they can charge whatever they want and be rude to their guests. Won't be me again anytime soon.

Monnie

Pleasantly surprised. The pace of play was better than expected because the course was fully booked. Staff was professional.

Always fun when playing golf but horrible greens

Every single green is on a slant and the cups were horribly placed. For the money I expected better grass. A lot of fairways were soaked, muddy, and patchy. The rough is exactly that... rough. It’s like hitting off of sticks. I just expected better. Not to mention pace of play was SO slow... took us 5 hours at a course that seemed to run well around the club house. Staff on the other hand was incredible and extremely helpful.

Not fun

Course was not a fun course to play. Greens were ridiculously difficult. Not well maintained. No Marshall. A lot of water, and runoff line even a.lottle bit nothing to stop ball from rolling into water. Would not recommend.

A little disappointed

The staff at the course was good. Layout is good. The surrounds and greens are in great shape and the greens roll quick and true. Only issue is if you don’t get your ball in the fairway then the lies are iffy at best. Traps are in bad shape and little sand.

Not the best for the money.

Course was in poor condition, no ranger to assist with pace of play. Compared to others in the area, value not there.
