Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.
Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.
A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Palm Course - McCormick Ranch Photo submitted by tainge on 03/29/2013
Over. Rated.
Overrated, and overpriced. I’d rather play at Sun City and pay less than have the price we paid for McCormick.
Got rained on Hole 1 from the driving range, while on the 1st fairway.
Front nine greens had lots of sand.
Few aesthetically pleasing holes; lots of holes side-by-side with little separation.
Would rather pay $100 for TPC Champions or Dove Valley courses.
Great sraff
We visit Scottsdale most February’s and always make the effort to play McCormic Ranch. Our experience has always been super. The courses are both in great shape, friendly staff great cart service employees
Good course. Fun time
We played the course in 4 hours. Great condition. Greens ran at 10 on the stimp and rolled true. Only saw beverage cart twice and would have been nice to see it more. Great time. Friendly staff.
Behind a 5 but Finished in4:10
Everything pleasant and professional- greens played true, tough to read but fair. Ranger let 5some play in front and professional q
Qualifier two groups ahead had Us waiting on every hole so round seemed longer than it was. I would play Palm course again
The staff was friendly and professional. Scott the starter was very informative. Excellently pace of play without a Marshall,
Good course for a rusty game
Played with 3 very cool guys from Portland. I was a single. Course was perfect for my 1st round in almost 4 months. Pretty straightforward with enough water in play to keep you alert. I would describe it as a higher end muni. Staff was very friendly and practice facilities (free) were excellent! Huge putting green, 2 chipping greens and a nice sand trap for practice.
Tough One
Lots of water; lots of slope on the greens which were fast,Course was in great shape
Great day in January to play golf
Good golf course great staff. Treat you like a club member.
So so
Time of year probably has something to do with the course conditions lots of wet spots and dead grass in the rough
Fun on a cold December Day
I thought the course was challenging. The staff was great very helpful and friendly. Conditions were not fantastic but I guess as it should be for December
Great In December
It was a chilly day in Scottsdale but the course was in very good condition. The staff was friendly and in fact I am playing MCCormick Ranch tomorrow.
DECENT TRACK
Palms is a good for a warm up round for your golf trip to the greater Scottsdale area. Decent shot making required with a few strategic water features sprinkled in throughout.......it is a better design than the Pine.
The facility has good practice areas for chipping and putting and the greens on the course were good. Decent sand in the traps as well.
It’s rated exactly were it should be 3 - 3.5 stars
Don’t pay more than $45 just because it’s in the heart of Scottsdale because it is not worth it!
DECENT COURSE
The Palm course is definitely the better of the two. There are some good design features scattered throughout the course and some nice water hazards. Greens where great and the bunkers had good sand. Good practice areas as well.
This is a great warmup round for your trip to the area.......this course is rated properly........3 - 3.5 stars.
Don’t pay more than $45........just cause it’s in the heart of Scottsdale, don’t mean it’s worth more than that!
Good civic tract.
Enjoyable afternoon. No pressure on the course and able to finish in 3 1/2 hrs. As always on the Palm 18 the water hazards came into play. Only slight negative is that the repair of ball marks on greens seems to be an issue on greens that otherwise were in much better shape than earlier this year when I played there last.
Great golf vacay
I played very early in the morning. The staff was very friendly. I felt like I had the course to myself. Beautiful scenery. The layout was nice. Not easy but not so difficult that I felt like I couldn’t play well out there. The only bad thing was, they paint the greens. So my ball was green every time I putted. Not a big deal, but it’s different than I’m use to. Overall I loved my experience. I’d play there again next vacay.
Golf in the Palm of Your Hand
McCormick Palm is my favorite of the two courses. They're both good but Palm, in my opinion, is a tougher challenge with a lot of strategically placed trees and tough water holes. All of it is fair and usually a good value
Get New Carts
Overall this is a convenient course to play. Having two courses is always a plus. Starters are awesome and cart guys are as well but pro shop staff could make you feel more welcome.
Here’s what confusing: you charge a competitive rate. You have a qualifier for the PHX Open. But your carts are embarrassing. Even the staff roll their eyes when asked about replacements stating it’s been a constant issue.
