McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Expected better for the money.

Truly expected more for the money. We will start with staff friendliness. Either they’re all burnt out or they don’t want to be there. Course conditions left a lot to be desired. Let’s start with the greens. The greens are beat up, the amount of ball marks , patchy grass and inconsistent pace are just not ok. The fairways are strewn with a massive amount of un repaired divots. The rough is more like dirt than grass and in many places it’s just simply dirt. Bunkers sand was very inconsistent it was like a rock in many places where the sand is less than an inch deep. For $100+ for the round you would think the conditions would be better. Lastly the pace of play was over 5 hours. We saw the marshal multiple times but he never spoke to anyone or did anything to keep the pace of play moving. Other than saying he would have the pro shop message them on their GPS. What a joke.

Course needs work

There are a lot of other courses charging 90 ish per round that are in a lot better shape. Traps were poor , some hard as concrete. Fairways pretty skinny of grass so lies were very tight.

Disappointing

Disorganized pro shop, poor rental club experience—old, mismatched sets Course conditions were not good—thin grass on fairways, uneven spotty rough, bumpy greens.

Bunkers need sand

Very good value for the money. Great course for a Midwesterner to play the first round of the year on. Green side bunkers need to either be ground under repair or bring sand in. Enjoyed the course layout and the practice facilities are great.

Great sunset golf

McCormick was a great course with very friendly staff. The course is a bit tricky with sloping greens lots of water and sand, so be prepared to lose a couple balls. Bunkers were a bit stiff but otherwise the course played great, especially in the late afternoon with the sun setting on the back nine.

Beautiful

Course was in great shape, greens were a little slow, downside of having a lot of ducks and geese I’d waste all over.

Cart path only

Because of rains 2 days prior course was cart path only pretty exhausted at the end too much walking in and out but the pro shop said normally it's 90 degrees that's why you can see fairways were awsome condition we played the palm would come back to play the pine course

Challenging greens

Need some strategy on this course. Hole #9 ate 5 of our balls. Lot of water on Palm. Sloped fast greens.

Been to McCormick 3 times and had to follow a Tournament or company scramble each time, so pace of play is slow. Check before you book if event is going on

Nice but lacks hole markings

First off - it’s a very nice course - greens are great and the course is challenging. But, the course needs better signage marking where next hole is. Also the web site said 90 degree rule but when we got there it was cart path only. We may not have golfed had we known that. Understandably it had rained a lot a couple of days earlier, but the majority of the fairways were so dry that there was no reason to restrict the carts to the paths only. It’s a long course and the cart path only rule made it even longer. Caution: don’t purchase a mixed drink from the cart person unless you ask the price first. We got charged $11 US for a vodka/cran/soda., Should have had the $5 beer!
