Mountain Shadows Golf Course
About
The executive golf course at Mountain Shadows Golf Club in addition to being an excellent course has the added benefit of having a picturesque location nestled in the foothills of Camelback Mountain, and it also offers views of the equally majestic Mummy Mountains. The oleanders and palm trees sprinkled throughout the course enhance the pleasant atmosphere. The golf course's 18th hole boasts beautiful views of the sunset during the twilight hours but the signature hole is the par-3 12th hole. It plays uphill toward Camelback Mountain and over a pond and brook to a double-tiered green that is well protected by bunkers.

Nice for par 3 course, nice views
First time playing, got a hot rate on GolfNow. Lots of gravel/dirt between tee box and green which was not great for a beginner golfer who didn’t make the greens. Nice layout for a par 3 and good conditions. Nice houses around the course and views of the mountains. I would come back for the right price. We played early in the am and the tee was wide open which was great.
A 4 Star Executive Course
For an executive course, this is probably as good as it gets. The course conditions are superior, the views of Camelback Mountain and Paradise Valley are spectacular and it all feels like you're on an exclusive course. The only draw back is the confusing arrangement of tee boxes around the back corner of the course (holes 13 -16). Maybe it was set up that way just for the day I played, but tee boxes more logical for 15 were being borrowed for the 14th tee tips. Nevertheless, the course is very appealing to the eye and couldn't be a better platform for those working on their iron game. You have a good mix of short holes and intermediate holes to test the full range of irons. Because it is an executive course, the greens are tricked up to make it a real test to get your tee shot into the right area to hold the pin. Misfire a bit and you are tested to keep it a two putt.
Thank you for the nice review. We strive to be a fun, fast round of golf with the best views in town.
Surprise
First disappointed when we understand it is part 3. The course was looking so in shape than we decide to play. It is probably one of the most well maintained course we played up today. Every green are specials, challenging the best putters . We did enjoy the view all around the course. My wife took hundreds photos.
Thanks for taking the plunge and changing your perception of Par 3 golf. Fun, fast and scenic. And time for a great lunch on Rusty's Patio overlooking it all.
Definitely want to return
Very fast perfect greens. All par 3s but they are challenging. Grass was the greenest I’ve played on. Fun little putting hole was unique and difficult.
Thank you for the 5 star review and excellent rating. We hope to see you again soon.
Short Game Help Needed
Had played this course before but they re-did the entire place and opened about a year ago.
It was in fantastic shape. Plush and green.
Only issue was even from the tips you only use a couple of clubs in your bag. Holes are either 160+ or around 100 yds. Wish they had a better variety so you use more clubs.
But it is well worth it if your short game needs work. Its very challenging and for sure...... not easy.
Thank you for the 5 star review.
Practice your short game
Beautiful course in great shape, all par three but great views and shots!
Sharpen your skills!
A great executive course that has very challenging greens. So much fun! We walked it easily even though it was in the 90s. Very well cared for and scenic as well.
Thank you for the review as we strive to be fun, fast and different.
This was our first time on the revamped "Short Course". Par 3's sounds pretty easy, but the greens are very tricky and fast. Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent condition. Grass in the rough is quite long and very lush...chips were difficult to anticipate. Many of the holes on the new course are quite hilly...not easy for old knees, but the middle holes still circle a water area that is very pleasant.
Short course that is fun to play
New layout is challenging but excellent course conditions make it fun to play. Miss a shot and you pay for it . Greens are undulating and difficult to read but they are true.
Excellent Practice Course for Short game
This course is absolutely beautiful. Very stylish and well thought out. Bring your A game because this course will challenge your short game for certain. We had a wonderful time and we will return for sure.
Interesting experience, but sad.
This was the first time to play the course since it was modified. The old course was interesting, challenging even though it was short, enjoyable, and a place where Rookies and Pro’s used to go to sharpen their short game. The new course is “shortened” (how the heck can you make it shorter?). Answer: Well, to make room for a few more $2-4 million dollar “Condos”. But, they tried to make up for the 85 yard (tips) pars 3’s by adding a few more mounds and traps, woopie. My suggestion to anyone reading this is to play the course one last time, for nestagalia purposes, before they “shoot” the course and put it out of its misery, it won’t last long. Obviously, Big Money took over and they are more concerned about profits than leaving the City of Paradise Valley with a legacy. Oh, I almost forgot, and very important. Good luck trying to find the entrance to the course. What a joke.
Thank you for the excellent rating for our staff and course conditions. We are sorry you didn't enjoy the new design. Both new and experienced golfers have enjoyed the fun and fast round with the best views in town.
Great Little Course
Really wasn’t expecting much from a par 3 course, BUT was pleasantly surprised!! Lots of up and down and undulating greens. Greens, fairways, tee boxes and bunkers were in excellent shape. All at the base of Camelback Mountain. Lot’s of fun! Will definitely be a repeat customer!!
Thank you for the nice comments and 5 star review.
Par 3 day
The staff was great. The course needs rain, especially the greens. The location by the mountains was nice.
Pace of play was a little slow for a par 3 course.
Thank you for the review and constructive comments. The new greens are maturing, the pace is typically about 3 hours and the location and views are the best in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.
Never thought I would book a par 3 in Arizona...
Friends told me about Mtn Shadows, last November. Funny experience they told me, now, I say the same thing
to my friends visiting here.
Probably one of the best par 3 in USA.
Gorgeous place !
Less than 3000 yards, but believe me, bring your A game and check your putts..
Have fun and don’t tell others....chut. !!!
Thank you for the nice comments. We couldn't agree more.
5 stars
One of the best short courses... Fun and challenging...
Thank you for the 5 star review!
Good course. Way too expensive.
Awesome course with fun greens and good condition. Price is about 220 for a 4 some. For a par 3 that is about 40 dollars overpriced making it a somewhat stressful round of golf. 3.5-4/5 stars. Would be 5/5 if the prices were not deadly.
Thanks for joining us and nice comments. Considering golf at nice regulation courses in Scottsdale is from $500 and up, we provide fair value. New fun course, great conditions and the best views in Scottsdale / Paradise Valley.
Unfair Greens on a nice layout
Course needs to be rated so scores can be recorded for handicap.

Thank you for joining us. The course is pretty open between tee and green to allow the ball to roll forward and not get caught up in bushes, etc. Once you get to the green, you'll experience some of the most unique greens you've ever played.
