Mountain Shadows Golf Course
About
The executive golf course at Mountain Shadows Golf Club in addition to being an excellent course has the added benefit of having a picturesque location nestled in the foothills of Camelback Mountain, and it also offers views of the equally majestic Mummy Mountains. The oleanders and palm trees sprinkled throughout the course enhance the pleasant atmosphere. The golf course's 18th hole boasts beautiful views of the sunset during the twilight hours but the signature hole is the par-3 12th hole. It plays uphill toward Camelback Mountain and over a pond and brook to a double-tiered green that is well protected by bunkers.

Fun For All
My. Shadows is a vintage course that has been completely redone over the past two years. It is an executive course with extremely challenging hole selections, rolling terrain, and slick and undulating greens. This course is fun for beginners and a real challenge for those concerned with their end score. Beautiful scenery is a highlight of this course. This an amazing remake of a tired but beautiful and classic old course.
Not a relaxing round
I am an avid golfer and have golfed every kind of course you can imagine.
But this course is the most unusual course I have golfed.
First of all, I have to say that the course was in great shape and the staff was friendly.
It turned out that going from par 3 to par 3 was not very relaxing, it felt very rushed.
And only 1 cart per foursome, which I get, but it was very confusing about who would drive versus walk. And cart path only left the driver putting last.
And the black tee box markers all looks the same, which was also confusing.
Lastly, there is no shade.
I love the concept, but actually golfing the course was not enjoyable.
Sad to see you go
Excellent value for this par 3 course. Sad to see it go while renovations are happening over the next 2 years. Missing cart girl puts a little damper on the day.
Very nice for an executive course
Nice facilities and course, especially for an executive course. It has been our experience that executive courses are not at the level of above average 18 standard courses. However, Mountain Shadows is! It was a fun place to play, and we will be back.
Great course
It has been a couple of years since I played this course. I will be going back a lot.
My review
It is a beautiful course. I did not care so much for the back nine holes under 100 yards.
Great executive course
Course is is good shape- play soon they close at end of May for 18 months due to construction.
Really enjoy the staff there-
Great Short Iron Course
Great little executive course! Staff is exceptionally friendly. Greens and sand were dry but the fairways were in great shape. A lot of sand, but a few nice water holes that are more challenging than they appear.
Great Course!
This is a great course for the beginner and intermediate golfer. More advanced golfers may also find it challenging. Many of the fairways are not as wide as many 6000-7000+ yard courses. So you better hit the ball fairly straight down the fairway. Also a great place to work on your short game. The price is also reasonable for this time of the year, the condition of the course is good to excellent, and the staff is friendly. The sand is a bit hard in several bunkers so be careful or your ball may get away from you if you hit it to hard. Pace of play can be slow during more crowded times of the day. My golf buddy and I play at this course nearly once a week.
Not a course for the avid golfer
This par three course has great views of the north side of Camelback Mountain, The look of the course at first is very impressive. the greens are like cart paths. super hard and very fast. the bunkers have NO sand in it. They will not hold any shot. I would not recommend this course unless you are a beginner. I drove over thirty minutes to have a terrible experience.
Get Sharp on a Par Three
An interesting challenge for a e par three. Accuracy required to play well.
Great course for beginners
My husband and son and I golfed here and really enjoyed the course and our day. The course was in really good condition and was perfect for my son and I who are just starting to golf. My husband enjoyed working more on his short game. It was perfect for all three of us.
Always Fun!
Never had a bad day at Mountain Shadows. About to have a complete makeover and hope to play again in 2017. Play it now while you can. No better executive course in the country.
A short course but a fun course!
Short does not mean that it isn't challenging! The course was in good shape, the price was reasonable, and the people we played with were great! We didn't spend any time waiting on the tee boxes, which was great. It was a very pleasant experience. I'd go back and play again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the course will be closing in June for revamping.
Fun executive course
My wife and I played this course recently and had the same fun experience that we did last year. Mountain Shadows is a great par three course(with a couple par 4 holes). The staff, both in the clubhouse and outside were great, very friendly and informative. Course was somewhat easy but in good shape. Fun course for young and old.
This is a well conditioned challenging executive course
It is good value with a friendly and accommodating staff.
We rode due to partner's requirements but it's an easy walk.
Very nice course!
Played this course with three girlfriends as our warm up round during our week long golf trip. Lovely course with beautiful views and well maintained. Service was excellent and pace of play was great - less than three hours to play. Would definitely return!
