The course layout consistently earns high praise, with the Acacia nine standing out as a particularly enjoyable and fun challenge. Exceptionally friendly staff and strong value for money make this a course worth returning to.

Unlike many other Scottsdale courses, Kierland Golf Club's three nines sprawl across rolling hills without a single cactus in sight. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Mesquite/Ironwood Course is has player-friendly fairways that are generous and easy and the green are large but not particularly undulating or fast, which makes the golf course accessible to a range of different skill levels. The course isn't entirely forgiving though. The Mesquite nine may be the flattest of the three nines but it is also the toughest. The par-4 sixth is especially demanding. The challenges of Mesquite are balanced by the player-friendly nature of the Ironwood nine. There is some strategic mounding but overall the links design is very approachable. The golf course ends with its signature hole, a classic risk-reward opportunity with a lake to the right and sand traps to the left.

Great Course

Always enjoy playing here. Super friendly staff. Course is in very good condition in regards to fairways and bunkers. Mesquite greens were really nice, Ironwood greens were punched and bumpy, but should get better. Putting green was closed.

hole nine

I have to say that hole 9 was rather challenging without the cart and especially in the heat.

Not sure if anything can be done to allow carts or disable the cart for older folks

Kierland complex great

We played again on a recent golf holiday. Course was in great shape. Facility including hotel and villas are amazing. Pace of play not great. We were stuck behind a single playing 3 balls and although the Marshall knew about it, didn’t do anything. Acacia is their signature 9. Make sure to include this one.

Not worth it

You expect quality when you pay $300 to play a quality course. Played ironwood/mesquite and the greens were the quality of a $20 mini course. Every green was patchy or bare. I was amazed! Expected and heard great things about this course. I was upset that more reviews didn’t show how bad the greens were. I would’ve spent my $300 elsewhere. Very disappointed. Do not play here if you’re looking for quality greens to play on.

Disappointed

I was disappointed at how I was treated when I played there recently. Due to a disability, I require a cane, and find walking distance aa issue. When I arrived at the pro-shop I was advised that the first 9 would be cart path only for course maintenance. I said this could be an issue, and had actually asked if the GPS would allow me to allow me to drive closer to the greens. I am an owner at Kierland Villas and play the course whenever I stay there. I invited a friend to play there as I feel this is a beautiful place to play. My friend and I even said we would be willing to play the second 9 twice. I found the staff to be totally unwilling to make any type of accommodations. I understand that course maintenance is required, but this is not an inexpensive course to play.

Further, I was not advised that we would be required to play cart path only. They told me that was the responsibility of Golf Now. As it turned out, I could not compete a few holes. Call me disappointed.

Great course fun

Especially for the end of a long hot and relatively dry summer here in the desert, the course was in incredible shape! The pace was fast and we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately we had a member from our party cancel last minute for a family issue and we were forced to pay for his vacated round. After which they tried to pair us with someone. The starter after I informed him that we had paid for an additional person was cordial about it and didn’t end up pairing us. There has to be something that can be done about unavoidable cancellations and not having to pay quite a bit of money for someone’s round who wasn’t there.
