Great Eagle Golf Club

About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Friendly welcoming course with plenty of challenging holes.
We enjoyed it very much only finished 16 holes as it was getting late and the course backed up around 15.
Still had fun.
TOO SLOW!!!
The members in the foursome that we caught up to after the first 4 holes, should be playing an executive course. But, I guess the same will probably be said about me, one day soon.🤯
Greens
The Greens were cut too short, too fast!
The Tee Boxes are in bad shape, otherwise the course was in decent shape. Looks they are trying to improve everything!
Poor poor shape for Summer let alone winter
This is probably one of the worst shape golf courses I have played. Tee boxes awful, fairways are not even close to smooth or even and have larger mounds on them. (NOT BY DESIGN). The quality of the grass overall is just not where it needs to be at any price.
The turf and bunkers are rock hard making it next to impossible to control most chips and pitch shots. No cart around the course for drinks and the cart paths ride like they were built in 1880.
I will not be back. It’s just too rough.
Honest review
The reviews for this course are all over the place. Firstly the fairways, tee boxes and greens all have green grass on them. Because the rough doesn't see water it is brown and looks dead. The greens are fast and some of the pins were difficult. The cart paths are in rough shape also so drive a little slower. Friendly helpful staff. Yes, it could use some renovations and upgrades but then you would be paying the same as the other over priced courses in the valley. Overall this is a good deal.
Don't waste your money
The picture does not reflect the actual course. The sand traps are like concrete. You start out on a cart path then they disappeared. Not very well maintained. The price does not reflect the condition if the course, too high! Read the other reviews, the only good ones are friends of the course, who do not play golf. Traditions is a better choice.
Disappointing
I chose to play after a few folks recommended it. While I liked the layout, there was so much dirt (not desert), poor bunkers, cart paths falling apart, and patchy grass, that it ruined the experience.
Worth a try
Played this course with my son for the first time. Most of the reviews were not great. After playing the course we are dumbfounded as to why people were so negative about the staff and course. The staff were nice to us, but maybe that was because we were nice to them? The course: fairways were in good shape. The rough was, well, rough. The greens were fast and challenging. I went into three bunkers and only one was a little hard. But it was a crusty top layer. I will play this course again.
