Great Eagle Golf Club

I caught a hot deal. The greens were decent. Rolled ok. But the fairways were left to be desired. But for the price on the hot deal it was fun.

Front nine layout and conditions were fine but not on the back 9 which was bieng top seeded. Back 9 layout and conditions don't make sense given all the grass bunkers and dirt peaks & valleys throughout. Cart paths are a mix of potholes and rocks. Not my kind of fun.

Inexpensive, good pace of play, but not 1 drinking fountain Or water on course??? No cart lady.

Any golf day is a good day. This course needs water. The fairways are in poor shape but with some maintenance and desire, this could be a real fun course. The greens weren’t bad and rolled fast today. Obviously the bunkers need work but that’s with many courses here in the valley. Hoping management invests a bit…until then will have to play elsewhere.

This course needs to water the fairways tight lies dead spots all over the fairways. NO water jugs or rakes for the santraps Covid is over other courses have water and rakes back. For the money they can afford to bring them back

From a pure layout perspective, it’s awesome and very fun! However, the bunkers, fairways, and greens are really bad. I know it’s transition right now, but the greens and bunkers were effectively unplayable.

Not crowded, played in under 4 hours. Course.a little rough, but greens were ok.

We have been coming on golf trips to Arizona for the last 2 years. This is the 20th course we have played on our 2 trips to Arizona. It is without a doubt the worst of any of these courses. Greens are green, even though most of the grass is crap grass. Tee boxes so hard you can't get a tee into the ground. Lots of bare spots in the fairways, and the fairways and approaches to the greens are hardpan. Sand in the bunkers is crusted over, and there are not any rakes for any of the bunkers. Some water and some maintenance would do a lot for this course. Someone must have decided this as well, as a couple of traps were completely filled with water. Cart paths were the worst I have driven on in Arizona. This would be a $25 green fee anywhere else in the country. $57 dollars on Golfnow for the Phoenix area. Go anywhere else for a better experience.

The first time I played Great Eagle was in Aug 2020 and was not informed that the course was in the condition that it was. This left me very bitter and vowed not to play it ever again.

Well 2 years later some friends played there and said it was in good shape

I decided to give it another round and much to my surprise they where right on par. The course for the price was excellent. They still have some improvement as with all non country club course, but what a difference. I enjoyed the challenge so much that I played there 2 days in a row, and will definitely be back. Thank you and I’m glad I gave it another chance.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't expecting a lot from this course as I had heard that it wasn't in very good shape. While it can use a lot more water, and there are many areas that are dirt, the fairways were good where the grass was green, and the greens were a bit slow but overall in good shape. I thought that the layout was interesting, and had s good time. I would say that it exceede6my expectations.

Really was a great course years ago. Now not so much.

We like playing here, interesting holes, fun. A challenge.
