Great Eagle Golf Club

About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Trash
The entire course is in horrible shape fun the tee box to the greens. The pace of play was awful and the course had no ranger. We complained twice about the group in front of us and nothing was done.
Great Eagle
Golf is always fun..but this couses asetics are poor..bad cart paths tilited hole flags cause thry are full of grass and bumpy greens
.
To Be Fair
To be fair, I'm playing in AZ in the summer.
Played early morning and it was cloudy, so it wasn't bad. And they are preparing to re-seed the course. Another month, and it should be very nice.
Worst course I’ve ever played
I’ve been playing since the early seven days and this is probably the worst course and the most poorly maintained course I’ve ever played at the greens are dead and diseased. The fairways are in horrible condition. The rough hasn’t been mowed in weeks or months. Nobody cares about this place. It’s on remote control, I don’t recommend it at all at any price
Rough Going
Great Eagle was in rough shape. The summer heat and lack of water have taken its toll on this course. The greens were bumpy, many fairways burnt and hardpan. Having said this the course has a nice layout. The back nine is much more interesting than the front nine. The course is also messy. They could trim and clean up the fairways a bit to make it more presentable. Despite that it is very convenient to get to and has potential that needs to be tapped into
Rough conditions
The course appeared to be dead. Very thin fairways and uncut rough. Very dry. Greens were not in good condition, they were green but full of weeds or maybe another grass type.
Bunkers were hard as a rock. Holes on greens were overgrown.
The staff was helpful, professional, and supportive.
There was a lot of construction around the pro shop.
Fun course, reasonably priced.
Fun course to play. Conditions were as to be expected in the Arizona summer. Sure it’s beautiful in the winter. The only issue was the crab grass on the greens.
ok
course layout I thought has the potential to be awesome if the course is maintained. It was in horrible condition, burnt out fairways, bunkers like cement and the greens although receptive had some type of growth all over them.
Terrible Course
This is the worst course I have played in the west valley. The entire course was dead grass, mole holes on the green, and rock hard sand traps. I had to pay green fees for my 8 year old to ride along with me even though she was not playing. The staff acts like this is a top tier course even though everything is run down and old. I will never play here again.
Tough but Playable
The lack of water has taken its toll on Great Eagle. Fairways are burnt and there were plenty of dry brown spots. Greens were bumpy and uncut. The heat has not helped so it was not in the best of shape.
