Great Eagle Golf Club

About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Awesome round
Really enjoyed this course. Grandson the fairway was on its way out because of the season. The greens were amazing. Definitely recommend. Lounge and food was also amazing.
Good value
Greens and fairways were good but the rest of the course was in fair condition. Excellent value.
Conditions
This was a “dunes” course. Lots of dunes on every hole highly affecting your lie . The dunes were part of the fairway limiting a clear approach from the middle of the fairway, Approaches were very hard or thin grass.
😩
I’ve played this course for over 20 years
I alway hope it will be in better shape
Today was the worst I’ve ever seen
There was absolutely nothing good about it
But if you want to practice bad lies and putting on greens that are the worst in the valley , Go for it
If you pay more than $20 you are paying too much!
I think the worst course I’ve ever played in 45 year
Poor condition/poor service
Usually don't leave reviews but this place was bad. Golpger holes in the greens, a huge valley/gouge in another green. Crab grass all over thr greens. Nobody there in the proshop or bar area. Couldn't get a drink or food anywhere at 10am. This is a $20 course in the summer. Won't go back unless it's free.
Terrible
Pace of play was good b/c we were the only ones dumb enough to pay $45 for this dump. No food or coffee for a 9 am tee time. Stopped back at the turn for a drink and they were closed. Rutts and valleys on the greens bouncing putts everywhere. Dead grass on tee boxes and fairways. Non existent cart paths. Terrible experience. Won’t be back.
Pretty good
Some summer heat issues to the fairways and greens, but overall a nice course. Like playing here. They offer a very reasonable member pass for 10 plays. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Course distance is great for long hitters and enough tee options for no so long hitters.
Experience
Overall great service and very friendly people. Very relaxing and enjoyable round of golf.
Happy trails
Darrel and the outside staff are great really like playing golf here they are why I play here .
Conditions
The fairways were very dry anindeed. In some places, other places they were flooded.Sand traps had no sand but But overgrown grass Where balls were lost Went home after 9 holes cart.Paths weren't marked very clearly
Course was a little bit wet
The course was a little bit wet it was harder to hit. And would stop your ball
Great!
Course is in great shape! I’ll play again next time I’m in Glendale AZ!
This course is improving slowly
Course was much better than last week. Most courses are struggling with this heat.
Summer Golf in AZ
It's never easy playing golf in August in Arizona.
This course was wide open the day I played. Working on the game, able to drop an extra ball whenever, hit another tee shot after a bad one. Course was in decent shape, one thing with the Eagle if you're off the fairway you have to work to get it back to a good lie.....
Enjoyed the $39.99 green fees + the meal deal after!!
Good cheeseburger and fries and soft drink/iced tea after the round. TVs had Olympics, baseball etc on the 20 or so big screens.
Played front 9 twice. The greens had at least 1/4” of sand which was spread unevenly making putting impossible. I usually enjoy this course, but had I known the condition, I would have stayed home and avoided the frustration!
