Laguna Seca is good value
Since the closing of the two Rancho Canada courses, Laguna Seca has become one of the good, affordable courses on the Monterey Peninsula. It's is good condition, although the tees are chewed up. Hole 15 as always is quirky, but it's always been that way. (I did par it today, one of the few times.)

Clubhouse is being renovated so there is no F&B. Portable restrooms being used. Greens were very good. Fairways need a little work. Sand traps part of next year’s renovation. Tee boxes a little undulated, hard to find a level area.
Really fun and interesting course.
Nothing bland about the layout. Holes are layed out on rolling hills. I’m ready to play this every trip to Monterey.
Bang for your buck
I’ve played Laguna dozens of times and the greens were by far the best I’ve seen. They were still bumpy in places because they get so much public play by people who don’t want to pick their feet up or clean up after themselves but definitely true in places. Bunkers are playable but not really sand. Tee boxes could all be updated but again, still playable. And everything else was pretty decent this time around. The golf now rate seems pretty good until you add on the cart fee (luckily I got the hot deal that came with a cart). Still the cheapest in the area for what I think is a really fun layout. Not super long but definitely challenging.
Sub Par
Average, not great, no excuse for a course in this marginal condition in a cooler climate.
Fun layout
This course was co designed by RTJ Sr and RTJ Jr, and has a lot of very fun holes. Course condition took a big hit after shutdown, but they have a plan to improve in place.
Tough but Fair Course
Dan in the pro shop is always extremely helpful and very pleasant.
Nice and relaxing course for intermediate golfers
Very nice course. The length for the white tee is just right. Bunkers can be improved but it’s understandable during Covid. It’s an hour and a half from my house but it don’t mind.
Excellent course condition
I’ve been playing here for approximately 6 times. I’ve found that this course is in excellent condition. The layout is somewhat challenging that makes this golf course very interesting to play. The only problem the last time i play is that there’sA couple before us who are so slow.. It’s seems like they are looking for there missing golf balls all the time. We don’t want to call the pro shop so we just buy pass them on one of the par three. Other than that this course is so nice..
