Problem with paying green fee
I booked my time through golf now. When I went to pay my green fee l used my credit card because I didn’t have enough cash. I assumed my card would be swiped so my credit card number would be encrypted. But instead the employee wrote down my card number on a form he had on the counter, in plain sight. I asked him why he was writing down my number. He said that’s the way we do it with golf now. Credit card numbers are very private and personal information not to be shared or left in plain sight due to all the identity theft that is going on. I’m very disappointed in your lack of privacy and will be notifying golf now to make them aware of your procedure.
Jewel in the south
If you have not yet later LS take a little time to explore this course.
Truly a gem.
Great value for a great course
Also a Great Restaurant
And great value on merchandise
Much improved
They have done a lot of great work to fix problems on this course. Excellent conditions. Very fun day!!! Go play here!!
Golfing solo in light drizzle
Best day of golf I’ve ever played @ Laguna Seca. Did not see 1 other golfer during my entire round. Played 18 in 2 hrs 20 min. While a storm was predicted for the afternoon, it didn’t materialize. I was very fortunate and made the most of it! Course played like it was dry and was in good winter shape.
Great day in December
Couldn't ask for better weather in December. Course was not full but plenty of people teed off in the the hour after us (11:00a) and pace of play was very good -- 3:45 round. Fairways were firm and greens rolled very well and reasonably fast.
Fun course
Lots of elevated greens. Good time for any level player.
Reasonably challenging
Doglegs, green front traps, fairway creek. Plenty of trouble but still fun.
Great Track
The last couple times out I haven't been able to complete the full course due to various reasons. I always enjoy the layout here at Laguna Seca. With all the elevations changes its a blast to play.
Right now the Greens are in the best condition I've ever seen them. Extremely smooth and void of pitch marks. They're rolling at a medium-slow speed which is average for this track. The greens at Laguna Seca are sneaky. They don't look very intimidating but can bite you in a hurry if you're not careful.
Fairways were average. Decent coverage throughout but certainly a notch or two below the last few (high end) courses I played. Tee boxes were in nice shape as well. I was only on one sand trap and it was ok. I was right at the bottom flat spot of the bunker so it was a bit damp and hardback from all the recent rain. Still, it was it was playable.
As for POP I'll post a separate thread on that topic. Once I broke free of the people I was paired with, I zipped around the back 9 in an hour and some change.
Overall, Laguna Seca is an absolute blast of a track. Conditions are as good as ever right now, but still, it's on par with muni courses. Full rack rates are steep but the online rates aren't too bad.
Lovely course
Very nicely laid out course. Unfortunately the pace of play was excruciatingly slow. Couldn't get any momentum and felt the cold more due to all the standing around.
