Wet course
The course was very wet, grass was long
probably because of wet conditions
A great value in Monterey but. . .
make your sand traps consistent. I've been playing Laguna Seca for years now and every one I have played with always has commented on the inconsistency of the sand in the sand traps. Some are this super powdery texture with rocks and others have little depth and you end up striking dirt while others are perfect. The sand traps on the 17th par three are a good example of what they should be. All in all I always enjoy playing here and its a great value for the area. I just need to hit better shots and stay out of the sand traps. :-)

Spectacular views
This is a awesome course for the price, challenging elevation changes and layout. We had a blast and look forward to playing this one again.
A Summer Course?
We played here just a few days after a week of heavy rains and the course showed it. A "cart path only" day.
The course features a challenging layout, is well bunkered, with some blind tee shots (get a yardage book), and had some pretty soggy fairways. The most disappointing aspect, though, was the bumpy greens. Hopefully that too was weather related. We would like to give it another try - maybe this summer.
Oh,soooooo slow pace of play!
The course design is good, but the greens are in need of help. Bumpy, and in need of attention. Every shot was a 10 minute wait making for a LONG day.
AWESOME GOLF COURSE
PERFECT GOLF COURSE. YOU TEE OFF ON THE FIRST HOLE AND ALL THE MOUNTAINS ARE IN FRONT OF YOU AS YOUR VIEW. ALSO LIKED THE BEVERAGE CART. DELICIOUS BLOODY MARY MIX..... KEEP IT UP.
One of My Favorites
I always enjoy playing here. Some very challenging holes gor the average player. Greens were bumpy but is is winter and has been wet.
Good value
2nd group off in the morning, so beat the crowds that can slow down play. Course was in good shape except for the greens. Greens were very beat up. Every putt bounced its way toward the cup. Good value still though for the money.
Golfers, Seek Out Laguna Seca
Laguna Seca is a great golf course, just east of Monterey's airport. The course is challenging without being stressful--and beautifully scenic in the verdant valley along Highway 68. I recommend this to golfers of all skill levels.
Laguna Seca golf
Great course and great value!
Big Supprise!!
I wanted to get out for the evening on Friday with my wife as we were home all day so I decided to book a round and found one at Laguna Seca for 24 dollars, with a cart. Every thing was fine until I arrived at the golf course. The person behind the desk at the pro shop told me that if my wife rides with me it is an extra 13 dollars. This was real cheesy as my wife was not golfing and we were the second to last people going off at 424 pm. There were two guys behind us one walking and the other riding. My wife and I had to wait an inordinate time for each hole I was playing two balls as it was so slow that I could have been in a foresome and it would have still been faster. The people were nice on the course but the employees or management could have speeded things up so they would not have to be so greed as to charge my wife who was an observer an extra 13 bucks. This was the big surprise. I will not play there again unless someone pays my bill...
Challenging, scenic and in great condition
This is a fantastic golf course, and when I played it I was on seventh heaven with the nicely mowed fairways and the textures of the undulating greens which were true and slightly faster than expected. The course isn't long but it does have a number of very challenging holes. The par fives look easy, but be very careful as a single errant shot can result in a double bogie (or even more). The back nine is more difficult and there are a couple of long par fours. Elevated tee boxes make it fun to hit long and high drives. Finally, don't forget to visit the driving range which is very unique and scenic, although you have to climb a hill to get there (also a cart is available to make the climb easier for older folks). The salad bar is quite the treat.
Nice golf course and great staff at the pro shop
Everything was nice except for a few bumpy greens had brown patches on them.
Played 18 in four hours.
Good lay-out
The course is dried out and not kept up whatsoever. Go play Bayonet instead!
Interesting course
First time I played Laguna Seca, it's a fun interesting course, looking forward to playing there agin.
skip the front 9 and just go to the back 9 until they address the issues
so, call me spoiled with the central valley's golf offerings? the first 9 are in disrepair and need serious attention. I see that i am not the only one disappointed with the upkeep of the grounds. it was cheap, but i guess i got what i paid for. I would recommend any sacramento area golf course over this one in its current state. do yourself a favor and skip this one.
Ha ha!
I think that every course in Northern Cal is a summer course right now.
