Laguna as usual; average
I have played here >10 times. Laguna Seca is the backup to my backup. Although i love the location, I am challenged by the course, and enjoy the different types of shots required to play here, I seem to always feel like it could be so much better. 10 & 15 need to be imploded and re-built. The $3 cart policy is so ridiculously dated I can't even think of another course who asks you for a deposit for the key. The cart paths are extremely rough although I appreciate the rare-if-ever 90 degree requirement.
All in all, this is an average course and would benefit with a little more TLC.
Great course for the money
I drove down from Santa Cruz area to try out this Robert Trent Jones gem. Started out the day with a 500+ yrd drive thanks to the cart path. Traveled all the way to the front of #2 tee box. The greens were in awesome shape and the traps were maintained very well. This course is mostly wide open and plays pretty easy if the wind is not to strong (which it usually is in the afternoon). It was well worth my 45 minute drive and I would recommend it to friends.
Nice layout
Nice layout requiring the use of most of your clubs and some strategy. With few golfers on the course, the round was wonderfully quick. Greens were true and well kept. Some sand traps needed more sand. Always enjoy playing here when I visit the Monterey Peninsula
Great Day
Could not have been happier. Staff was great, even remembered that my wife was with me and gave me a corrected score card for the red tees.
Any Time of Year
We usually play at courses a little farther north but when the conditions are "winter ball" Laguna Seca is an especially good choice because the course dries out well after wet weather. But really, it's a good place to play any time of year because it almost never gets hot.
Really enjoyed playing here.
Course was in good shape, pace of play was excellent and staff was very friendly. I would definitely play here again when I'm in town again.
Quick 9 holes
we played on New Year's Eve. Quick check in and great course condition. My partner was a first time golfer and he had a very good experience . Thanks to a positive experience at Laguna secs,he has decided to continue with the sport of golf.
Pleasant mid-level course
Nice variety of holes in decent condition for December. Lots of elevation changes yet, if ball is positioned properly, your shots are played from good, level fairways. Staff could be more helpful with course tips, but overeall, a good experience.
Great for the Money
I played early and it was COLD! Frost warning (not delay) meant no cart on first 3 fairways. Weather stayed cloudy...course played great. Challenging but not overly difficult. Fair but not easy. The greens were in excellent shape for this time of year. I will certainly add this track to my regularly played courses. By playing early we had no slow play to tarnish the round. Worth playing in my opinion.
Beautiful
Staff was friendly I recommend it to all my friends I play luguna seca at least twice a month
Laguna Seca in December
The weather & conditions were great; especially for a crisp December day!
Laguna Seca World Class Golf Course
Laguna Seca is an incredibly beautiful and well maintained golf course. The lay out is wonderful with each hole offering a different challenge for all levels of golfers. The course turns into the mountains with some beautiful views. The clubhouse with beautiful restaurant and well stocked golf store and dressing rooms can't be beat. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful, the range is one of best settings in the world. All of this for an unbelievably low price. The greens and fairways are in great condition. You really can't beat this golf course, anywhere in the world.
Not a walk in the park.
The course is fairly hilly, so is somewhat difficult to walk.

Overall good experience. Groups ahead of us with sunflower seeds was pretty annoying but the course was in good condition. Golfed like crapola
Never got to play: course over-booked
OK, I like this course a lot and have played there before. Had a tee time at 1:20 or so and when we got there about two dozen golfers were all standing around the 1st tee. they were out of golf carts and over 1 hour behind. I really do not understand how they can get into this situation. They run a golf course everyday. Although they were nice about it, I heard them complaining about other golfers who had a negative opinion about the way they ran the course. Seems they had a point. It's not my style to be rude and confrontational but after some thought this is my review. Needs to be some accountablility.
And, not any kind of compensation for my lost fee on golf now or something.
Challenging course
Great course - lush, green, with spectacular views. Was very breezy there for a while, then died down. Many elevation changes. Greens were moderately fast and very challenging - hard to pick lines.
Laguna on a sunday
Played Laguna Sunday afternoon, course is dry but in good condition with a drought. Greens a bit hard again water. The course is well maintained, staff is great, always greeted with a smile, I feel welcome.
fast round at about 3hrs and 5mins for 18 holes for a twosome. Can't wait to get back out there, Oh I am on Friday.
coarse overbooked
Nice coarse/staff, typically a good round. Coarse taking tee times which overlapped a women's tournament. Made it super crowded. 10th tee when we approached had 5 groups waiting. We were a threesome and joined with another threesome, playing 6 for the back nine..super slow..almost packed it in ,but hung in
Power outage round
There was no power when I arrived so I got no cart and no rain check for round or cart. They said I have to call Golf Now to receive and consideration.
That is such an awesome review.
