Nice course
I haven't played this course in several years. I was pleased to see the red tees for us women. It makes the course easier and my friend and I both did well. The people who work at the course are friendly and helpful.
Best Quality for Money Paid In Monterey area.
1st time at this course and we had a terrific time. The course was in very good condition and the weather was typical Monterey weather, cool, overcast with some sun.
The Course
Challenging to lower handicaps (if you play from the black tees) as it is a little on the short side, but not so overpowering to the higher handicapped players. Very scenic and colorful course.Tremendous amount of character and one of the more interesting courses to play locally.
The People
The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. We had a plan to catch and and they let us tee off early. We were only a twosome, but the locals who were in front of us (we could tell they were locals) actually waited for us on a whole so we could play through. A very rare courteous group that you rarely find now.
I have played almost all of the courses here (Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Poppy Hills, Bayonet, Pasa Tiempo etc) and I can honestly say that when I bring future groups to the area to play, this course will definitely be one of the stop overs. The value for what you are getting simply cannot be beat. I strongy encouage that you give this place a try.
Great Course
I love this course. Lots of elevated tee boxes, good sand, protected greens, and friendly fairways. One of my favorite courses in the Monterey Area.
Monterey Gem
Great round, very scenic. Fairways in good shape especially considering the drought. Going back for sure.
Affordable local course
It's a fun course. I play here often since it's close and there are some good deals to be had. The course is in pretty good shape but the greens are crazy bumpy, bouncy, jumpy hollabaloo. It's pretty darn lucky to get anything over 6 feet to drop. A day on the golf course is better than most other days so even though these greens are frustratingly inconsistent , its still good to be on a course.
Very nice course while in Monterey
It had been years since I played this course. I am a much better golfer now than I was then so the course did not seem so long or as difficult.
The course is in great shape and with the beautiful spring weather, you can't beat a round of golf in Monterey.
Fun course
A lot of elevation changes which add fun to the mix. Would like the course if it were the only one available.
The course was great.
The course was great. Lots of bunkers and challenging. Be careful of pond of middle of course. I would definitely recommend to friends and will play again.
aeration
It would be nice to know that the course was post-aeration and that the greens were essentially un-putt able before signing up for the round.
Always look forward to playing here.
We play this course about two to three times a year when in the area (we are from Sacramento). It's challenging but not to difficult, weather so far is usually great. Wind might pick up later in day, but still enjoyable. One of our favorites!
Great course and will improve since greens were just repaired
Considering the drought, Laguna is in fine shape and should be played.
Poor greens
I know courses have to aerate their greens. But when they do they really should reduce their prices, it makes for a terrible day of golf playing on recently aerated greens.
Punched greens without a notice
We booked on Golfnow and no warning that the greens had been punched. You should warns customers and not charge full price if you just punched the greens. I'm taking my business else where.
Good value for the price
The course is a good layout and plays longer then the card due to changes in elevation. You have to think you way around this course, driver isn't always the smart play. There are some challenging holes and knowing where to play the ball is important. There are birdies to be had but big numbers as well.
Difficult to differentiate between fairway and rough, multiple different grasses and weeds with everything about the same length. The greens are slow and bumpy. The bunkers have a lot of rocks in them and are inconsistent.
I hear that the course can be windy but the day we played we had almost perfect weather. The course is in a nice setting without the intrusion of too many houses.
I would play this course again and beats the price of other courses on the Monterey Peninsula.
nice layout
great course which offers a little bit of everything
Laguna is nice and fun
Solid track, not as exciting as some of the other mid-tier courses in the area, but well-kept and overall a very satisfying experience.
Good Dependable Course
As usual, Laguna Seca offers a good value in a great environment. The course has a variety of challenges and is in good condition. One always looks forward to the 15th hole where one can be a hero or a goat very easily.
The staff is always friendly and strive to make the golfing experience a good one.
The driving range is excellent.
Surprisingly fun course
I love playing Laguna seca. It's rarely crowded and each hole offers a fun challenge.
Bunkers need help
I really like playing this course. The cost for the round in the cart was great
Negative issues bunkers need a little help
Beautiful round with great views.
This course is located in a beautiful setting and has variety, challenge, and the best rates around the Monterey Penn.
