Best score
I got my best score in this course. Love it! We love to come back here again.
Laguna Seca has always been a tough for me and yesterday was no different.
I had a pretty good day yesterday but there are definite issues with some of the greens. they are very bumpy and it is difficult to get a ball to roll true. Also, some of the cart paths could use some attention. other than that it is a great golf course.
Always has it's challenges.
I always enjoy this course because it has a little of everything for a challenge...water, hills, trees. We got there early and enjoyed our breakfast and everyone is very friendly. Course moved a long at a good pace.
Challenging with a slope a little low
Worth playing more than once and I will do so
Evaluation is too time consummimg
great course good value
Worth the price . Well maintained, but the greens were a little bumpy. Beautiful setting for a course.
Interesting design
A course that needs some play advice if never played before. I was fortunate to have played with two gents that were very familiar with the course. The help with direction off the tee and bunker placement made the round more enjoyable.
We played Oct. 15th and had to deal with smoke and ash from the Fort Ord burn which was intense at times.
Pace of play was great as was the local scenery as we moved up the mountain holes.
Overall good value from golf now booking.
Great design but under-maintained
The Trent Jones design with elevated tees is very fun. Over the last year or two the maintenance has gone down, especially the greens. There are several greens that have multiple kinds of grass and are bumpy. They have made the course easier over the last few years. It is a value if you get a deal on Golfnow.
Fun and Challenging
Generally in good shape but greens were patchy. Some of this is time of year and drought conditions in Monterey area. A tough and challenging layout with unique holes as in most R.T. Jones courses.
Nice course
Had a great time with our 4-some.we were first off so we had to deal with the guy who cuts in the pin location. Had to wait on a couple holes. Course was in good shape for fall. Kikuyu grass was yellowing and the greens rolled well and true , a lot of weeds on greens. For the $42 we each spent, it was well worth it. Breakfast and lunch were great. Staff was nice to regulars and a little distant to others. Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY !!!!!!
Good overall value
Great setting, greens a bit spotty, pace of play was good for a Saturday
Breathtaking Canyon Views and Tees
My husband and I played this course on a beautiful fall day on the Monterey peninsula. The views from the canyons were stunning and it was fun to pick targets from elevated tees. There are also a number of holes on the valley floor that are average. I will say that the greens had sneaky breaks that were exacerbated by the somewhat bumpy surfaces. My only other recommendation is that the cart path repair cycle should be expedited in order to prevent additional water damage to the asphalt.
Nice course poorly marked.
Would like to see maps for the holes. Unable from several tees to see where the holes go. Too many blind shots for new players. Would like to play it again now that I have some idea where the trouble is off of the tees.
Well maintained course that is a great value
Really well maintained course with a freindly staff and even friendlier golfers. I've met really good people each time I've played. The course has great layout and especially like the elevated tee on the starting hole. A really good first tee shot with a short second shot to the green can really set your confidence for the day with a great chance at birdie!
Great deals on rounds make this course a real steal to play.
Golf Course was great
We played in four hours which was great. One criticism though, on course restroom was deplorable. Urinal was filthy, soap dispenser was broken, no towel dispenser , roll of paper towels was sitting on the corner of the trash can. Attention to detail applies not only to the course, but the amenities & necessities as well! I'll be back but I hope management takes notice and takes corrective action!
Great course, and not expensive!
Highly recommended. Some of the greens needed attention, but otherwise is a course with beautiful views that rolls thru the mountains.
Tough back nine
Beautiful view throughout. Course in good shape along with traps. Greens rolled ok but there seems to be an issue with low level disease or something with some off colors etc.
Course in great condition speed of play was excellent
The price is always right the course is in great shape and speed of play is very good to excellent On weekdays.
Ok course but for this area, the conditions were sub-par
Decent course but compared to others in the area, the conditions are below average. Plenty of doglegs make it a little tough on first-timers.......some pretty easy par 4's and par 3's with one extremely difficult hole, #10 which borders on unfair as it is almost impossible to hold the severely sloping fairway. In a very sunny area, which for this area is a little unusual.
Bar closes at 3
Good condition for older course, BYOB if playing after 3 even on weekends, wow the money they are losing
Challenging for the average golfer.
Greens need attention, but I'm guessing it is due to the very dry weather we are having. Nevertheless, I did enjoy my day at Laguna Seca.
