Stay out of their traps!
This course was in great shape, and played a little challenging. Lots of traps and sand type varied from shallow and firm to deep and soft.
Played ok if you play straight.
Pace was perfect, lots of 2somes and still neve felt pushed or dragged.
The bar was virtually empty, service was slow and drink was made incorrectly.
Will return in the area.
Nice round for January
I teed off early to catch the 49er playoff game that afternoon. It was a cold morning wit a bit of frost. The starter suggested that I start on the back as it was wide open. Made the turn and joined another two for the final nine. Finished in under 3 hours.
The course was in good shape, we'll kept and nice greens. We'll worth the price!
*Day at Laguna Seca
Had a good time .Wed. seems to be seniors day. Disorganized, late, men showing up late and holding times up. But a good experience.
Fun round.
First time playing here - will definitely come again. Course does not beat you up as many of the newer courses do these days. That said, the greens are a bit tricky. All in all, a very nice walk in the park!
This course was great
This course was great people were Friendly The staff was great overall people were very nice golfNow teetimes are great would recommend to other people
course needs to be watered!
Overall this is a fun course to play. Elevation changes an so e challenging greens made the round fun. The weather was perfect with little to no wind and the sun was shinning. Unfortunately the fairways needed some desperate help. The only thing that was green was the greens and even they needed help. Many of the greens had fungus or weeds growing that needed treatment. I wouldn't play the course again but did have fun despite the conditions. If they take better care of the course I would think about going back. Average course for the money.....
Decent course, but could use some work.
The fairways and greens could use some work. The staff was friendly. The pace of play was very slow. Had to wait on every tee box.
Very good course, very good price
Laguna Seca is a very enjoyable course to play. It's challenging, the holes are varied, it's pretty, you have to use most of the clubs in your bag. Some greens weren't in great shape when I played (some were), but I'm told that is being remedied (and January isn't really the best time to judge conditions). I'm looking forward to going back. The price is definitely right -- real value for money, in my view. I'd say that unless you're in very good shape, it's a tough course to walk -- very hilly in places, particularly 8-11, but elsewhere, too.
Great mountain sights
The greens are in these winter slump so if you are thinking about making three foot putts forget it,the total Monterey area is in draught conditions so expect more brown than free, however the course is fun to play especially the 14th(cross the river 2x),great value, practice area is excellent.
Love the new forward tees
Last fall, Laguna Seca moved the red tees WAY forward, and added a new tee box (green) back from the reds a bit. The course is now extremely playable for women. Before this change, I hated the course - but now I enjoy playing it. The white and blue tees remained unchanged, so my husband still has the course he always liked before.
Lots of elevated tees
Course was in very good condition for this time of years. Greens didn't look as good as they actually putted! Pretty fast. Pace of play was excellent. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Had only played course once several years ago. Could have used some directional help where the fairways were headed and any significant issues: Water or ravines that came into play!!
Ok but beat up
The fairways were beat up and the greens are not good. Lots of weeds and bumps on several greens
Great pace and a fun
Great pace and a fun round. Good challenges, tested 5 sand traps, and a little water, lost one ball. My second time at he course and will be back next month.
The greens are a little rough in spots, but overall pretty true.
I'm looking forward to playing it again.
Would have been a fantastic round if the greens were in better shape...great value, good folks. If you live in the area, I highly recommend it.
nice track, brown in patches (frost) better play in times other than winter. a challenging, yet scorable & open layout. Do golf now for value.
Opps!! Review is above. Don't pay more than $50. Other Monterey courses better. Check out Carmel Valley. Still it's double the price, but better conditions for winter play! Be a NCGA member 4 discounts! Hit 'em long & straight.
Nice day
Course in very good shape fast pace, greens are tougher than you think
It's a fun course. It needs a little TLC and will be great.
Played here many times. Near my house, staff is friendly, rates are affordable.
Just a well designed course.
Played many rounds this past year and can say each was a pleasure. Have met some fine people here and even joined the mini rewards club. Ended the year playing in the Thanksgiving Classic. Two thumbs up.
Course needs work
This course has gone downhill. They fired the pro after 32 years and replaced him with one from Rancho Canada who shares hid duties with both courses. The course is in desperate need of maintenance.
The only bright spot was the bartender and the bar.
This course throws a little bit of everything at you.
This course is a fun golf course. It offers undulation on the greens. You need to be able to work the ball both ways and has some good elevation changes. From being wide open to semi target golf. It throws a little bit of everything out there. It is a good value. It is not in perfect shape but it is in pretty good shape. Greens are a little rough. It's an over all good test of golf. In the past the greens have been a little hard but where receptive this time around.
