About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Great course
Great layout. Finished the round in3 1/2 hours. Only real complaint are the greens were extremely slow. It appears the greens were punched and sanded a few weeks ago.

Condition slow because of seeding and or aeration otherwise course is beautiful and a reasonable challenge for medium to good players

Fantastic golf course!
We played the course and everything was great ;but the greens. They were recovering from aeration and very slow. I just wish we had known ahead of time. In two weeks the course will be awesome.

Great challenging course
Great place to play a round of golf. The course is challenging but rewarding when you can place shots.

Not what it was before covid
We've played the course many times ... the starter was the only member of the staff that made us feel welcome...the greens were fuzzy and slow.... Not what we expected....however, we will certainly be back!

Reservation
We had to spent an hour trying to resolve our reservation which was not in their system.
GolfNow had it on their system and it was paid for but
Omni Oak Marsh never got a reservation nor the payment. Very stressful situation. I was very frustrated with the situation. I had the impression they did not believe me even though I had my receipt as being paid. Why should I use Golf Now ever again, Ugh! What a disaster, Thank you Golf Now.
