About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Very scenic views
The course is beautiful and most of it is in good condition. Greens are rolling pretty slow for a Pete Dye course though. I believe there was recent maintenance to greens. But overall great course. Especially for the price.

picturesque course
The course was in beautiful shape, we were missing several women's tees markers as there was a woman playing with us. Everything was in good shape greens fairways they have some hazard areas that could use taller red steaks because it was my first time playing there and I hit a couple of beautiful shots that reached a hazard that could not be seen, as did the long ball hitter in our group.

Great course and great staff!
Immediately upon arrival to the course we were greeted by the cart attendants who were very friendly and helpful. We checked in at the pro shop and again were impressed by the level of hospitality we received! The entire staff did an excellent job setting the tone to what was a wonderful experience! The course was in immaculate shape and made for a great round of golf! My group will definitely be back and recommend everyone play this course!

Always beautiful views along the course.
Blue heron, roseate spoonbills, egrets, and turtles were out in full force. Greens were not consistent. Fairways were back to life.

Overpriced
Course was not in good condition. Tee boxes were terrible. Would not recommend. Very poor value at $100+

Great value
Joining a twosome from Long Island, , we had a fantastic time. Good company, weather, world class setting and a few good holes made for a great day.

Get a hot deal or don’t go.
Not worth $100 by a long shot so snag a hot deal or don’t go. Greens were pretty terrible, and super slow and it felt like playing off Astro turf. Areas around the a lot greens was like hitting off dirt. Some new sodded places on the fairway and some greens. Conditions were on par with a local muni.
Besides that tough course, cool layout and great views on some holes and great staff.

Fun Fun Fun
Course is both fun and challenging and the scenery is calming and relaxing. Have played multiple times and it never disappoints. Will definitely be playing here again.
