About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Nice course in beautiful area
A nice course in good condition. I fairly short but enjoyable course. Not exceedingly tight, and fun to play. Greens have good speed. Most holes among the mossy oaks. A small stream runs through it with plenty of wildlife to be seen, including a large flock of flamingos. Several holes in vast marshy areas. .,., I was flying out that evening and they don’t have a shower, but hooked me up at the tennis center.

Truely epic experience!!
What a day on a gorgeous course. It was challenging, and a feast for the senses! So quiet, except for the wind rustling the leaves in the trees. The most amazing greens- these green keepers know what they are doing... it was a hot day, but the breezes off the ICW kept us cool. We traveled from Jacksonville, it was well worth the time and $.. Super nice staff also .Thank you for the best zen- like golf experience ever!!! Cant wait to go back....

Don’t hesitate just book.
I don’t usually write reviews but this is warranted. The staff was over the top kind and helpful. These guys are exceptional from the gentleman who drove my father in law over to me at the practice range, the guys in the pro shop who couldn’t have been more friendly, the pros doing maintenance who stopped driving and working while we addressed and hit the ball to the young man who came and got our cart after the round. The course was in excellent shape and the greens ran tough but fair. Definitely worth a drive from Jacksonville that has plenty of great courses to pick from. Can’t wait to go back. Congratulations guys you have a customer for life.

Good golf
This was and always has been a great golf outing. From the bag drop area to check in to Ron at the starter stop, everyone is clockwork.
I left my range finder and checked back with front desk- within 30 minutes I got a call they retrieved. This says a lot about their clientele and the staff. Will be back!

great golf experience
The course is always in great shape this time of year!. The greens were rolling at about 9. the fairways were cut just right. a few holes are cart path only.. Always an enjoyable round with the scenery. Pace of play was good at just under 4 hrs..

Great time. Played early May
For having aerated two weeks ago, I was surprised because you couldn't tell. It had already recovered. The course layout is very fair and fun. Conditions were very good across the entire course. Smooth rolling greens but a bit on the slow side which is expected going into summer. I played using the hot deal discount so the value was definitely there. Range balls are included in the greens fees. No cart service and no 19th hole available after the round. I'd love to play here again.

Great course but the grill is under staffed.
I had not been back to the course in 11 years. I found the golf shop staff very accommodating and helpful. The course was in better shape than I recalled. Tee boxes and fairways were excellent. Greens has recently ben aerated and topped with sand making them a little bumpy and slow. Pace of play was very good.

Excellent Pete Dye design and fun to play
The strength of this layout is it’s beautifully thought out design. Taking advantage of its majestic oaks dripping with Spanish moss and expansive marsh front vistas, this course will be easier for experienced golfers rather than those who are not, as the greens are elevated and small. Short game proficiency is essential to scoring well. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape, but the course’s popularity makes for slow going at times. There are a few water stations and toilets, but ask for their locations before you head out. There was no beverage cart on the course, so anything except water must be purchased at the club house when you finish the ninth hole. Practice balls are provided at the range when you choose to warm up. Practice areas are adequate but small. A very enjoyable facility and golf course.
