About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Beautiful course.
Great layout tough Dye course. Short enough though can play from the tips if you’re a longer hitter and not need driver every hole. Was a little patchy in areas on the fairway. Definitely need to go back again.

worth the extra effort to get there
Oak Marsh to me is amazing. The setting is special, a combination of old oak trees as well as marsh views creates a relaxed vibe, that regardless of how I play, I enjoy the experience. I found the course staff great, including a great starter, Dennis. Conditions were very good. Layout is fun and scenic, especially holes 9, 16,17,18. I drive more than an hour to play here, it's well worth the effort!

Terrific value for a special course
On a cold breesy day...50 degrees and the course damp from rain it plays long from the blue tees. Pins for some reason were in very difficult spots. Greens were mostly all elevated that created run offs all around. Chipping difficult anyway especially if short sided. Beautiful views mistlybin the back side. Fairways wide and easy to hit. Use the GPS on cart. Many shorter par 4's where 200 off the tee is plenty.

Wonderful day on the course
The course is challenging, especially when it is windy. This is my third time playing the course and I thoroughly enjoy the layout. You can’t go wrong trying it out.

Great Layout
Excellent course. Everything was in fantastic shape. Only downside was $60 for 4 beers and 2 hotdogs. They had nothing else to eat. Must play when in the area.
Great Course
The day we played Oak Marsh was lovely. Breezy, sunny day and the last 3 holes were cool with breeze off the marshes. The staff was very nice and check in was easy.
I liked the course a lot. You had holes with water, marshes, trees and some undulation. The only negative we found was the tee box markers were hard to find and some we couldn't find at all. I would recommend this course if you are in Amelia Island.

Course is great and great value. However it took us over 5 hours to play on a Saturday morning with no help from a course monitor to help speed up the pace.

Disappointed in the Amenities at the Course
We played a 4-some on November 03, 2020, with a 12:45 PM tee time. The course was in very good condition, but the staff seemed a little put off and not very helpful. Also, was VERY disappointed that the restaurant closed at 2:00 PM! We stopped after 9 holes to get a beer and a bite to eat and nothing was open! Very disappointing. Again, nice course, but not really worth the price for a round of golf. Much better golfing values available in the area.
