Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.

At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Great course, great pace of play

Excellent course. The course was in great shape and played fast. We played 18 in 3:30 with an 1130 tee time. Would recommend but be warned this course is tight and can play tough.

Well maintained but not fair from the tips

Course is pretty and in excellent shape. I played from the back (Gold) tees and have several issues. Some T boxes were thicker than the rough, Some tee markers were absent. In some cases trees close to the t box blocked access to the fairway or most of the green on a par three. In another 2 holes brush was grown so high as to block driver shots off the tee.

Amazing course layout for all golfers

The layout is great and challenges long hitters to those who are just starting out. Greens , bunkers, and fairways are top notch. The staff and practice facilities are similar to the actual green speed. Will be back soon

Expensive, Needs Work

Postive: 9th, 16th, 17th, 18th holes, all on Marsh.

Clubhouse has not received any meaningful update in over 20 years, and restrooms are no better than in a rundown bus station. Carts are old, a little depressing. Some bunkers are in sad shape, too, with stones, inferior sand. Cart paths need redoing. All this for the highest price around.
