About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Greens need attention
Overall good experience but Greens were bumpy with blotchy grasses

Friendly Staff and Not a long Course
Not the longest golf course. Elevated greens. Very friendly staff and helpful. You must play the 16th hole from the back tee. The view from back there is awesome. Someone said that the fairways were tight but I didn’t think so. Not much water on the course which was good for this high handicapper.
If you want to hit the big dog then play the back tees otherwise you’re hitting irons off the tee. We got around fairly quickly until we ran into a group of five golfers. They backed up several groups starting around the 13th hole. Not cool. Otherwise the wife and I had a good time. The weather was great that day.

Not Worth the Price of Admission!!!
Starter said speed improvement on the greens from 2022, still slow and considerably grainy. Cannot post USGA GHIN HNCP because someone forgot to pay the USGA fee, according to the Assistant Gol Pro !! And they want $115 to play the course, ridiculous!!!

Oak Marsh @ Omni Amelia Island Resort
Oak Marsh is a scenic resort course that weaves through the marshes of Amelia Island. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Very few players on the course this day so pace of play was excellent.
At first glance the fairways seem really tight but the landing areas open up for curving drives.
The greens are slightly elevated and mostly small.
I was surprised the course was not in better shape. The fairways were scraggly and thin in many areas, maybe caused by the freezing weather in December.
The greens roll ok but the collars have a lot of bermuda grass encroachment.
This is an expensive course. There are better at lower price.
In my opinion this course is past its prime and is due for a makeover.

Great course, difficult to score
Love the course but it played too difficult. Greens ultra fast, but no grain.. chipping was a difficult chore. All pins were 5 to six feet from a sand trap and on the edge of a mogul.. but,it is a beautiful layout and in fantastic condition. Players need to be single didget handicapper in order to score.

The locals must already know because only players on the course were starters playing for free.

The course was a great surprise and accommodations were world class. Pace conditions views and challenge all reside here… like all FL golf, beware of water!
Beautiful course
In a beautiful area, reminiscent of Hilton head. Greens sloped and tricky. Condition is excellent.. Tight course, but played larger.
