Beautiful Ocean Holes
This course had good conditions, but the ocean holes were absolutely breathtaking. The others holes were good but the layout was amazing on the five ocean holes. Overall it was a great experience.
Wow!
Simply spectacular holes with amazing ocean views. Outstanding playing conditions and an extremely friendly staff. Food and drink at the clubhouse was great. A must play at Amelia Island.
Wow when you see the Ocean holes.
The greens are unbelievable. Course isn't long but very challenging. Love the ocean holes. We were there when a cold snap hit but oncce the sun came out it was comfortable. Very friendly staff, clean facility and I would recommend and want to come back again.
Tricked up Ocean Course
I played here last year, and came to the conclusion that once was enough. I had a family member from the North visit, and he was eager to play Ocean front holes. So, I made another trip to the Ocean course thinking it would be better. Here's my assessment:
Design: Tricked up. Small, elevated greens. Very tight fairways. To me, the ocean holes have great views, but seem unnatural and fabricated. I can say the views are outstanding though.
Conditioning: Barely average, not what you would expect for paying this high of a greens fee.
In my opinion, if you want to see the ocean play this course. If you want a good true test of golf with better conditions play Oak Marsh. The scenery at Oak Marsh is just as good (marsh views as opposed to Ocean). The ocean course is poorly designed, and awkwardly routed.
much more wonderful the second time around
the course has many hidden features that when you play it the second time you will easily save five or more stokes. great views of the ocean on 5 of the holes.
Ocean Links is a Must Play
A little pricy but worth playing every trip. Beautiful ocean holes and great water holes, inland. Wind will cut your shots down on the ocean holes. Be sure to get the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich after your round!
Cool course
This is a don't miss course in my opinion. It's beautiful, challenging, and a lot of fun to play. I played Oak Marsh earlier in the week, and it abused me, but this course is as nice and a bit more forgiving. It was in superb condition and wasn't crowded at all.
I only have one complaint. While warming up on the driving range, some of the grounds crew drove onto the range...looked like they were getting plugs for the greens. They gave no warning, and pretty soon, another 4 showed up and just stood around. They were right at driver range and never did move, so I didn't get to warm up with any woods. Since I was the only person on the range, I thought they could have waited a few minutes or sped up. I complained about it, so maybe it won't happen again.
Even after starting in a really bad mood because of the crew, I soon forgot and really enjoyed the course.
beautiful course
Great course with 6 holes on the ocean. Well maintained and very enjoyable play.
Great Round by the Beach
My group enjoyed one of our Great's round in a very long time. The course was in excellent condition.
Scenic course
This ocean holes on this course are very scenic and very challenging, especially if the wind is blowing. The course was in very good shape and the greens rolled smoothly.
Simply gorgeous!
A great golf course...probably the most aesthetically pleasing of any I've played in the State of Florida. Kudos and more kudos.
Golf on the sand & ocean
For the 5 holes that have ocean views alone this is a must play. Other 13 holes are quite good as well with small undulating greens that are extremely difficult even though the speed is slow. Tee boxes need to be replaced but condition of the course is fine. Short course but tricky! Have fun and enjoy the views!!!!
Beauty and the beach.
I had a blast playing this course. A true links course. Once you start you don't see the clubhouse till the end. Green were fast and rolled smoothly. Fairways in great shape. I was put with a threesome who were a delight to play with. This course stretches out over big area. Follow the signs. The ocean holes were fantastic. Whatever your yardage take one club more on the ocean holes, I'll be back!
Great course
Great ocean views on several holes. Teed off around 8am. Did not see any other players, had the course to ourselves , so pace of play was excellent . Greens were moderate speed but held the line well. Enjoyed the sometimes long and winding paths from one hole to the other, helped to relax and really enjoy the course.
Sporty
If you are not a guest, make reservation on Golfnow for best rates. Par 70 Ocean course, with a few holes routed along the ocean then back inland not a true links. Course and greens in good shape. Play the tips if you got the long ball, a bit short from the blues. Greens mostly elevated and a bit small, found the ball rolling off or going through many greens. I don't care for back to back par three's or the round ending with a par 3.
Golf @ Ocean Links
Shot course, played the back tee boxes at 6100+, Par 70. Tight fairways, slow greens, nice views with 5 to 6 holes playing along the ocean. Can't walk this course as distance between some holes are approximately 500+ yards. Typical resort type of course, wouldn't go out of my way to play it but if you are in the area its not bad.
Fun course
Fun course to play with nice views. Nestled in nicely to the surroundings which makes it a peaceful and laid back golf outing.
Exceeded expectations
Tee'd off after 3 and I didn't see another golfer the whole round. Pace is a huge win for me and being from Orlando, most courses stack rounds ontop of each other and you wait for every shot. Course conditions really good, greens were in excellent shape...the views of the ocean were pretty stellar. Overall great experience and you won't be disappointed. Marci in the pro shop was especially great...over the phone directions, walks you out of the pro shop and gave directions! Big win, played well!! And I will be back
NICE
Nice course/layout but not maintained like a country club. Greens were nice but a bit shaggy. Some of the tee boxes were below avg. Ocean holes are fantastic. Especially #16. Was worth $50.
Love the ocean holes
The four ocean holes are great. I only wish there were more of them. The rest of the course plays through tree lined fairways with a good mix of long and short holes. The greens were recently sanded and ;maybe punched but rolled very well with good speed. The only drawback of the round is the disappointing ending hole, a short par three. A very nice course in good condition.
